Took about 10 games before I turned the corner on this one

Initially it felt a lot like luck based rock/paper/scissors but then as I began use the slight variations of the defenses and offenses and I purchased and expansion the game became more enjoyable. Still this is an abstraction of football but accounting for that it has become a very fun app to play.

Bad rolls are insane, don’t bother

Alwayslost247 on

App is a good implementation but the incredible tendency for computer rolls being positive and yours being negative outcomes is amazing. I sadly charted the rolls of a few games just to see outcomes to see if what I thought was happening was and it’s almost unreal how often you’ll get penalties and turnovers or just general negative outcomes vs computer rolls. Don’t get this app.

Nice concept...

Poorly executed.

Tiny graphics, no stats. Why?

thespaciousmind on

Poor use of screen realestate. Dice are still too small. They have no sound effects. The play cards are barely readable. Again, too small. The field shrunk. And STILL; no lifetime stats for games played, total rushing yds, avg per game, etc. Typical lifetime or season stats; none. We get season wins/losses and nothing else. LAME. Unacceptable for a game like this. And btw, PLEASE adjust the game so the ball marker stick shows where the ball is. It should move as the ball moves. In this game, the ball marker moves ONLY when you get a first down. The first down marker should behave this way (and it does). But the other stick should move to show where the ball is spotted. Anyone who knows football should understand this. The standings screen; also poorly displayed. Arrange the data like you see wins/losses in any newspaper; a table with 3 columns, sorted by wins, descending order... TEAM WINS LOSSES ... 10 1 ... 8 3 ... ... ... And ADD a few more columns, like points scored, scored against. Look at any sports website. Look at a standings table. This game looks as if it was developed by someone who's never really followed the game. Regarding gampley; pretty good. Plays like the real game accept on an iPhone, this is difficult to play; everything is too tiny, and no dice sounds is just odd. Every iOS game I've played that uses dice has dice sound effects! Online play; not interested. Wasted effort imho.

Everything small...

I had rated this game 4 stars but i must lower the rating after the last update. Yes online was added but the overhaul of the graphics making everything so small to see was a HUGE mistake!

Touchdown!

Great football strategy board game; I'm not a big fan of IAPs, but this game is even better with the expansion card sets. Definitely worth the $$$.

A good start but needs fine tuning and a price drop

gunstinger on

For the people who say it's too simple- once you get a few games played, you'll learn there's a lot more depth to the game if you pay attention to the details of the play cards. It's weak on the content side, as the cards and plays available to you are pretty limited unless you buy the IAP. For $5 you should get more of the teams from the IAP, otherwise all the teams feel the same.

Horrible game

Biggie_712 on

I love football and have coached for almost 20 years at the high school level. This may be the worst football game I have ever played. It is nothing more then a glorified game of rock-paper-scissors. The play selection is random, and ultimately meaningless.

Very nice game.

The only issue I have is when playing the game on my 5th gen iPod, I have a hard time reading the cards and seeing the play on the field. A zoom feature would be nice. :)

Good game. Needs some updates

Happyloaf on

United States

The base game is really solid. Dies a good job simulating football. The IAP should be include IMO. The game also needs some update. The game and results feels slow and I wish they were faster. The game also needs a forfeit or concede option in season mode. Riding a game out to the end when you are getting blown out or up by a ton is dull.
