Twenty Nine - 29 is a South Asian trick-taking card game. It is a very addictive and popular local card game among young and old generations in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Srilanka.
In this game, Jack and Nine are the highest-ranking cards in every suit. This game is played by four players in fixed partnerships, with partners facing each other.
Selected 32 cards from a standard 52-card pack are used for playing this game. Cards below number 7 are not playable in this game. Cards in every suit rank from high to low: J-9-A-10-K-Q-8-7.
Cards value(in points):
Jacks = 3 points each
Nines = 2 points each
Aces = 1 point each
Tens = 1 point each
K, Q, 8, 7 = no points
Dealing and Bidding:
Dealing and Calling or placing bids is anti-clockwise. The cards are distributed in two steps by four cards in every step. After analyzing the first four cards, all players bid to choose a trump suit. The highest bidder(bid winner) can choose a trump suit. The bidding range is 16 to 28.
Game Play:
The player next to the Dealer's left side leads the first trick. Other players must follow the color suit if possible, and the winner of each trick leads to the next. Non-bidders must request trump bidder to show trump and the bidder player must show trump before making trump.
After each round, if the bid winner side meets their targeted bid point, their game point will be increased or otherwise decreased.
