A Better Routeplanner (ABRP) Reviews
Fantastic for Planning
I used the free version for a number of trips and found it very accurate compared to other apps. Especially great at considering elevation changes.
Paid for full access mainly for CarPlay but found the maps let me down. Ie came across a closed road not on ABRP but was on Apple and Google Maps. Force a diversion and ABRP suggests 40min alt route when there was a 3min diversion available.
Also Car play maps do not have a night mode. Had to turn of at night due to brightness of map.
Still a great app and will use first for all planning but have no use of the paid access functionality in NZ.
Almost ideal
ABRP is an essential tool for planning road trips in an EV now that you can get live data straight from an OBD2 dongle it’s even more accurate. My only complaint is the app cooks your phone and I don’t know why!
Features hidden behind pay wall
App is okay though it doesn’t work as an actual navigation app in CarPlay unless you pay for it. Unfortunate they don’t just charge for it and are up front about it.
Love the app, but where did the +/- buttons go?
I’ve used the app for years, and it’s so great! It’s almost as good as the integrated trip planner in a Tesla. But there unused to be +/- buttons so you can adjust your estimated charge on the fly based on your actual charge. Those buttons have disappeared! They’re sometimes there, but they seem to vanish when I really need them. Bring them back please!
Best EV Trip planner
Even better than most in car nav systems. I find it very accurate when combined with the obd reader. As a first time EV owner this made road trips easy to navigate. It also was able to find a charger that just opened that wasn’t on any other apps. It’s great, you won’t regret this one.
Leader in a more sustainable future
Probably the more accurate and instrumental tool to show any drivers and potential new EV buyers what trips can be achieved. An EV road trip would not be as easy and fun without starting a plan on this app. It is a great resource for EV drivers.
Not accurate
How come it didn’t recognize a large EVGO station just three blocks from my address?
Great app! Waze support?
Fantastic app for route planning. Better than any of the first-party apps by far.
If the developers could add support for opening the route in Waze, that would be even better.
Extremely satisfied User
Fabulous driving app!! my go to App to find Charging Stations.
Accurate!
It is as simple as that. I have no idea how the Tesla is so bad but it often way overestimates arrival charge. This app gets close enough so we can plan on it.
