Operating on a galactic scale, this project is a collaboration across contemporary art, music, astronomy, design and technology. A Galaxy of Suns works with the native potentials of smart device technology to create a unique experience of the cosmos accessible to wherever you find yourself in the world. Tracking the Earth’s motions through space, A Galaxy of Suns documents in real-time your precise position in relation to the stars, sonifying stellar data to create a sound and visual composition specific to your location in space and time. Using the GPS data automatically recorded by your smart phone and operational without network access, the project works with parameters such as location on the horizon, brightness, size, age and chemical composition of stars, and translates them into sonic and aesthetic variables including rhythm, pitch, volume, panning, colour and light intensity. Whilst it creatively interprets science, A Galaxy of Suns is not an illustrative, literal or educational translation of data. Rather, it is a celebration of beauty and wonder at the ultimately inaccessible and intangible nature of the stars. ## A Galaxy Of Suns Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple30/v4/7b/86/4f/7b864f24-2c2e-16ee-75c8-3469e8888f2c/pr_source.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple18/v4/1a/b8/8a/1ab88a95-3c67-28e5-2507-9106983bde4a/pr_source.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple30/v4/1b/4b/8d/1b4b8ddb-c930-527a-aa2c-e2193740be21/pr_source.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple60/v4/96/97/34/9697347f-9454-c3d1-d0ea-c0864b0baa8a/pr_source.png/640x960.png) ## A Galaxy Of Suns Rating Breakdown in Australia - 5 stars: 5 (100%) - 4 stars: 0 (0%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 0 (0%) - 1 stars: 0 (0%) ## A Galaxy Of Suns Reviews in Australia ### ***** "A novel way to see and hear the stars!" The background to this app is really interesting and using the app is both fascinating and relaxing. I downloaded it to get a better understanding of my role in performing this piece live. It was a great help and the app itself allows you to scan the skies and choose your interaction with the movements of the stars around you. This extends to providing interesting astronomical data for every star. It’s great to show young children, who are fascinated to learn that the stars are always there, are always shining, and are always singing their own song, even during the brightest day. Altering the settings allows you to see and hear the true magnitude of the stars around you, or if you narrow your field of view, you can slow things down and have a really relaxing visual and audio display. It’s a great idea and I think it would make a really good learning tool for younger children. -- Singtothewind, 2019-08-16 [View all A Galaxy Of Suns reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## A Galaxy Of Suns Available In - [Australia](https://apptail.io/app/a-galaxy-of-suns-cCbf/australia) - [Canada](https://apptail.io/app/a-galaxy-of-suns-cCbf/canada) - [United States](https://apptail.io/app/a-galaxy-of-suns-cCbf/united-states) - [United Kingdom](https://apptail.io/app/a-galaxy-of-suns-cCbf/united-kingdom) - [India](https://apptail.io/app/a-galaxy-of-suns-cCbf/india) - [Türkiye](https://apptail.io/app/a-galaxy-of-suns-cCbf/turkey) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
