When playing back the song is perfect.. but when its exported then it plays your chopped samples or it replaces samples for no reason wich makes it unusable… good product bad execution.. this happend btw with the new update.. hadden had it before! So 1 star
The idea is great and the app works very well. Keen to see what they add in terms of usability and interface. Biggest step up would be to remove latency with airpods, but I guess that’s on Apple.
This app is so much fun!! You totally get the ethos of the amazing Ableton UI/UX design so things are familiar but you’re way more limited - which I think is fantastic. I caught myself making more interesting choices because of the limitations and I really love the workflow. In addition, the instruments and effects are top notch quality, you can actually dive deep into sound design on a tiny iphone screen. Thanks team and keep it up :)
When I use Note, it is mostly while using wireless headphones. I do experience latency which makes playing your notes a little harder than it needs to be. It would help if the clip had gridlines, that just like Live are able to fluctuate between 1/16 and 1/8T for example. It would really help if also, in the case of latency, you could draw notes, with a piano roll option. This would feel more natural if you could also use Note horizontally. Maybe the Sampler could also chop samples, or maybe you can slice recordings to a drum pad. For the rest I really enjoy the app and it’s exactly what I was looking for!
Most releases have a lot of bug, poor quality control
I really like this app as a sketch pad. A better way to add or edit note events would be nice. However, I think the greatest beneficial addition would be the ability to drag and drop samples onto pads, or a way to easily browse and pre-hear samples stored elsewhere on the device.
Great app. I actually use it :) Would be great if midi was added.
Very creative way to start sketching and create your musical idea. Make drums with field recordings. Sounds are great. Deep and organic. You can finish your track in Live through the Ableton Cloud.
Many Ableton users have been begging for an iOS (companion) app for years, and now it’s finally here. It feels like a very minimal start, but with great potential. I’d love to see more creative inputs that help deal with the limitations of mobile devices. E.g. tap a rhythm and then set the pitch, or vice versa. Or hum to input a melody, things like that. Compared to other apps, the input lag is bad. Also, the piano input size is weirdly huge on my iPad. Editing the piano roll and the notes feels awkward. No way to make changes to samples. It definitely has some cool and innovatie ideas, but I kind of hoped for something more. I really hope Ableton won’t give up on this app, as I expect people to have mixed reactions. Please properly invest in this and allow it to reach its full potential!
