Our News
I thank you for keeping us upto date on everything going on in All of Our little towns up here on the Ridge. I see your lil car up in Paradise Pines sometimes and look forward to seeing what has happened. One of the things I keep asking is how come PGE doesn’t think all of Paradise Pines doesn’t deserve to have Our Electric lines put underground, where I live is a Direct path when the WINDS from Jarbo Gap blows. The wind actually shifted, the fire came up the back side of Rosewood then shifted slightly and got the Lower Paradise Pines and we didn’t burn up. But we had burnt leaves all over our 1/3 of an acre. We were stuck up here the traffic was horrible, ppls cars ran out of gas blocking road and our cars were packed and had no room to offer them rides lots of ppl were walking to get away we had to go up through Inskip and over to Hwy 32 it took over 8 hrs We got PTSD and after the Get Ready Evacuation order from The Park Fire I want to move away but can’t. We cut down trees around the 3 sides of fencing but both neighbors have lots of trees and stuff that is So flammable. Yes some company came around to cut down trees that PGE DEEMED TO CLOSE WE WERE GLAD. BUT we know the fire areas recatch fire as the Park Fire proved it can happen. So Don’t you think that PGE should put all of our power lines underground. Are we not just as Important as the lower Pines? Then to top it off our Insurance cancelled us and said because we live on a Cul-du- sac we had to have a Special Cal Fire insurance which we bought for a few months but we had to cancel because we could not afford it, you either pay for medicare and groceries or Insurance but can't do both. We are not the only ones this happened to. AND ALL THE STORIES of the Deaths up here 85 PEOPLE DIED THAT DAY and 1 more died in the hospital. His Wife died in the fire. All the heroes who saved all the school children, I Thank every day Not 1 child was killed ❤️ I used to work for the School District and Safeway and knew so many that died its hard to live here seeing some of there family, it just makes me cry survivor's guilt.
Someone built all the White Crosses to represent those who died and then took them down saying They will make a Memorial for them but that hasn't happened why promise that and then Never followed thru with it. Built a short wall by the triangle stop downtown Paradise but NEVER FINISHED
im sorry i have rattled on but these are issues that need to be addressed. PGE WAS NEGLIGENT
KEEPING INFORMED
REALLY APPRECIATE THE THROUGH REPORTS, GIVEN AND UPDATES . LIKE THAT WE THE PUBLIC CAN DOWNLOAD THE APP, AND NOT ONLY GET UPDATES BUT LOCATE OUR PERSONAL ZONE AREA WHEN WE ARE IN A EMERGENCY SITUATION ,TO FOLLOW ,IF WE ARE IN THE EVACUATION AREA OR WARNING AREA. THANK YOU, FOR ALL THAT YOU DO .
Very Professional
I appreciate the professionalism of Action News. Good job guys.
Poor quality
I love listening to the Action News Now on the app,
However, I cannot watch it on full screen, if I get out of the app for a few seconds, the screen turns black and spins and spins having to restart the news from the beginning if I’m not watching live… Also? Pretty often I have to delete and remove the app off my phone as it starts given me trouble to ‘turn it on’ to watch news at any time.
Terrible emergency updates
The coverage of the developing Thompson fire through the app is horrendous.
Krista
I like the News coming up right away on local fires.
Campfire survivor and Chico Humboldt fire survivor in 2008, and Dixie Fire and my horse is near along Long Bar Rd, and there is one there working on in that area. Great work n to our fire fighters. I appreciate the professionalism
Poor app design and full of security flaws
Too many advertisements and and phishing spam links not monitored by ActionNewsNow IT department. Very disconcerting and no thorough news stories to boot! I’m about to uninstall!
Deceptive Ads “iPhone storage full warnings”
The Action News Now app allows ads to run that are deceptive with false warnings to appear as if they are coming from your phone. An ad on March 8, 2023 6:50am repeats the message “storage almost full clean your phone right now” and a “clean it now!” button (a website link) is in the center of the screen. Fortunately I have some tech knowledge and know my phone has plenty of storage but I would be concerned for seniors or parents etc… seeing this. Also with the rate of fraud increasing it makes me concerned that if Action News Now allows ads with links like this on its app that they are not aware to eliminate bad actors who use deception to trick Action News Now customers into clicking on links.
Action news
I had this ap on my phone and it worked fine and then it got infected with a Trump Ad that wouldn’t go away and wouldn’t let the news info come through. So I had to delete the ap. I deleted and reloaded it 5 times and now the ads will play but after that they won’t go away.
I am really frustrated.
I will probably have to delete again and just keep it off!
The New Ads Finally Made Me Delete This
The new video ads that play every single time you open the app are ridiculous, just delete it and go to the website.
This is one app that progressively got worse, not better.
