- Our Founders Story -

Addie Founder, Jo Vickers, had always struggled with things that others seemed to take for granted: focus, organization, motivation and keeping a daily routine.

All this took a toll on her mental health, and she tried every routine planner, organizer, productivity tool, focus app and motivation techniques she could find, but nothing stuck.

When Jo was late-diagnosed with ADHD, she realised that traditional planners and productivity apps didn’t work with ADHD brains. Their long lists of tasks overwhelmed her, they relied on her to order tasks, and maybe most importantly, they were boring!

Taking one problem at a time, she worked to find technology solutions that would work with the ADHD brain, and help people like her overcome their issues with focus, productivity and motivation.

Jo worked with the support of the ADHD Foundation and a team of clinical professionals, to bring Addie to life as the ADHD app that is truly designed for people with ADHD.

- New Features -
The Addie team is busy working on more amazing features that will help people with ADHD live a fuller, happier and more productive life. Here’s a sneak preview of what’s coming:

I like the format but it’s very, very expensive for the parts I use. And I realised today that tasks with a specified date for completion, if not completed that day, sometimes vanish without a trace. No amount of tinkering with filters will bring them back. My heart has sunk because I was relying on this to remember and there will be tasks that have simply gone undone and will stay that way until I’m rumbled

Great so far…

I say so far, because… well… ADHD. Things tend to start well when they’re new, shiny and exciting, but as is very typical of ADHD and in particular my personal ADHD experience, things tend to dry out a little. I’ve been using this just over a week now, and it’s still working for me just now. Things I love: The simple easy tasks shown as cards that you flip through. Means I can either go with the priority task, or chose another one that takes my fancy. The simplicity of creating the task. I love the AI option, Addie Magic. I use it to start me off with tast break downs then I adjust it to my situation. The reminders and rewards. Rewards are always good. Maybe once the “journal” aspect of the app is up and running, you could start earning different type fonts, pens or stickers for your journal. There’s a few improvements and updates that I know are in the pipeline from the apps news and info pages - lots of which are really exciting so I can’t wait for those features. A massive thing for me would be the ability to share my subscription with my family. Currently, I can just about justify the tenner a month I’m paying for me. But I know both my kids, one ADHD the other AuDHD would LOVE this app. I can’t afford to pay for all three though. I either sneak it and log them in under my name - which is a) cheeky and b) messes up my to-do list and stats and c) doesn’t give them their own list and stats. Or… I buy three subscriptions! Sorry, but other things like the food shop and bills come at a higher priority. So, can you do a family option subscription that is a reasonable and affordable price asap. Or make it available under Apple Arcade if such a thing is possible. That would be bloody brilliant. Then, we could challenge each other and up the gaming ante and really get stuff done! I’d also love it if you could combine this with something like the GEMs programme. Recording three things you’re thankful for in a simple easy to access way would be a good boost for mental well being. Make it simple with the path or least resistance and you’re on to a winner. Thanks so far for a good app.

Potential

I think the Home Screen is very enticing and the deck of cards layout is really positive for sorting through your tasks. I think trackers should be more visible so you don’t have to scroll to get to them and I also think at the price point, I would want some kind of calendar feature to justify it. I think it would also be positive to be able to add your own trackers. I have been going through all the productivity apps and I’m not actually adverse to paying for them, but I feel in this case it doesn’t tick enough boxes for me to do so. There also isn’t a road map in regards to future updates, and everything I have found is 6months+ old.

Scam

Awful, I payed for a subscription and wanted the free trial so cancelled it before the free trial was over but I haven’t got my money back. I tried to contact them by email and phone number but none have responded. The app doesn’t even work after I payed for it! It’s awful and I’m trying to get my money back 😭 please don’t pay for this app 😭

Avoid!!!!!Not nice Addie!

I had installed this app to give it a go and use the free trial to then decide which app was fitting the best my needs.I had to note it on the calendar (of course) when to unsubscribe. It says it’s a 7 days free trial, actually it’s not.The payment was pending when I woke up on the 6th day (but I didn’t checked), I unsubscribed that morning thinking everything was good, I end up not be able to use the app (because I unsubscribed) and being charged (far too much for what it is). Contact the costumer service that make the refund so awkward that I managed just to get the use of the app. Honestly shame on you!!! Taking the piss out of ADHD people!

Great app

Having been diagnosed with combined type ADHD a few months ago, this app contains everything I had separate apps for so I can organise my tasks and things in one place, The only downside is that, I have music playing near enough constantly, the sound that plays when you complete a task stops the music and I have to restart it, otherwise this app has been helping me a lot the past week, worth the subscription.

Not for me

Cute but too expensive, similar and cheaper options available elsewhere

Lots of positives but needs some improvements

Firstly I really enjoyed using Addie when I had a subscription. I love the gamification concept and the use of ML to generate subtasks, estimate time etc. It is certainly built with ADHD in mind, unlike some other apps which target vulnerable ADHDers but are not useful for us It was really good for me to create a big task (or even just “before bed tasks”) and fire in subtasks and it would help me stay focussed on the task. It was also helpful to see how long I estimate (or underestimate) tasks to take. The only downside is the cost of the subscription. The app is a bit buggy and doesn’t have features advanced enough to justify £10 per month. I’ve got enough other vital subscriptions so I just couldn’t justify it. I appreciate app developers and employees need to be paid however so I might suggest you have a good fremium version, or have ads or partnerships to lower the cost of subscription or work on more advanced features so people are happy to pay for it.

Addie has become my phone based best friend!

I had heard Laura (Addie Community Manager) talking about it on TikTok and had eagerly anticipated it being available so as soon as it was I downloaded it for the free trial. This is my one minor negative, because I downloaded it and then promptly didn’t use it until the free trial was almost ending 🙈 but I appreciate a longer free trial may not make commercial sense. Laura had done such a good job of promoting Addie and it was significantly cheaper for a year than other adhd apps so I took the plunge and paid for the annual subscription. It’s love. Addie feels like a adhd cheerleader in my pocket, and I find myself raving about it to anyone who will listen. I’m very excited by the upcoming new features, and I know I’d be lost with Addie now.

Great but unusable

BethDonag on

Downloaded today and sadly ready to delete it already. It’s a great idea but is slow and you can’t access the buttons you need as they don’t all fit on the page and the app doesn’t scroll. For example I can’t press the time button when setting a date and time in tasks so it always sets it at the time I enter the task and trying to set custom repeats you can only see up till Wednesday and then the buttons are inaccessible.
