We are still awaiting a repair after a fortnight because there is no local engineer (the nearest one available is 127 miles away). Now the app just says ‘Connection issue - failed to access account’. I’ve changed the password to no avail. Phoned the tech dept but they said it was a common problem and basically shrugged their shoulders over the whole thing. When you pay £40 per month for the system you expect a lot better, especially customer support. It’s hard to describe how bad and glitchy this app is but imagine you’ve paid a decent amount to get a top security system with much of the salesman’s talk being about the app and flexibility to suit you etc etc. Then you get it and you can’t set the alarm at night or it goes off and the app won’t switch it off so each time you have to get back up and go down stairs to work out what is wrong this time. If it’s set it off as the app said the alarm wasn’t on but it actually was then you have to all ADTs automated systems and work through getting the system unlocked. Janky cheap glitchy app which you get the pleasure of paying for every month and if you call ADT they will be quick to point out it’s the system you are paying for and not the app as the app is free to download, it’s like a bad scam you read about but for. Lack of updates reeks of poor customer service and, as such, if ADT asked me if I’d recommend them to family and friends, I’d tell them no. The app works so there’s that. You can change a few settings plus arm and disarm your system. However, as countless others have mentioned, it’s not been updated to support the new phone screen sizes, something which is inexcusable. Also, although it supports Touch/Face ID, you still have to click the logon button. We live in a world now where smart phone apps are constantly evolving. If ADT consider themselves market leaders then it’s high time they caught up. I’m downgrading my review to 1 star following me writing a review on Trust Pilot and ADT not liking the review and trying to have it pulled! Shameful company that, once my contract is up, will never get my business again. It’s a lottery each time you open whether it will work, including eg overnight when you wake up to find the app has decided not to let you turn off the alarm for no obvious reason. Sadly it’s missing lots of potential features and is so slow to use. It seems to suffer with no one thinking about how customers might actually want to use an app for their alarm and instead has a random set of features some of which are useful others less so. Most criminally though, It’s also still not updated for iPhone X, XS, 11 pro suggesting ADT don’t really take it seriously given they’ve had 2.5 years to do this.
