YES! The Software… („App“ is an inadequate and „cute“ term for clever programs IMHO.)… Li Xuan Niu ~ 丽譞牛 …did it AGAIN; Writing Programs, which are SMART as HELL! I warn in advance; this is a long review! So… SORRY for that, but; may be it helps. ✌🏼😎👍🏼 I have pretty much all of his programs, and use them scince he appeared in the Store. „UPSCALE 4x“ is the Peak of his Abilities!! Whatever Image i tweak with UPSCALE 4x … the OUTCOME looks so great. BUT; DON‘T expect „Magic“ where the Math forbid it! EXAMPLE: You feed the „App“ with a… let‘s say… 200 x 150 Pixel Image. May be a Portrait of a User-Image beside Forum-Comments?! Those, as we all KNOW, are tiny by default… and often UNsharp as hell. YOU choose the MAX-Template, which is 8x upscalling. UPSCALE 4x does NOT moan… and starts its Job. It‘ll present the Result… and you save it to CamRoll… to check it more intense. NOW… it sometimes (might) happen, that some Parts (we have a tiny FACE in our Example)… have Artefacts. THAT… is NOT Upscale 4x‘s FAULT! An Image… THAT small… where even a HUMAN can not precisely see how the EYES appear… how should a Software interpret that? So… that „Faults“, on such Cases (Don‘t expect perfect Results with SUCH Inputs!) like 200 x 150 (or ever LESS)… MAY happen. Cases… where things lie in shadows, AND the Resolution is tiny like in the example… should NOT BE JUDGED at all! Sorry for this long text, but… THIS must be SAID, cause some people expect „Magic“ from… impossible Stuff! Finally…: UPSCALE 4x… DOES Magic!! If you feed it with „average, normal Sized Images“ that are well lit (lets say 450 x 650)… Your chin will fall on your lap!!!! Promise… MINE does it every 2nd Project! Therefore… 5 STARS… well DESERVED! (…and i am NOT payed to write this Review! Those who know me… DO know, that… I F i type, than Reader should get something out of it) If, well IF Apple don‘t like it… they WILL kick it. I ACCEPT that.
