Description

AirBeam turns your iDevices into a realtime audio and video surveillance system. AirBeam streams live video and audio from the cameras and microphones of iPhones, iPods, iPads. You can watch the stream on any other iDevice, Mac, Web browser or AppleTV - even on multiple screens simultaneously.
Use your iDevices as luxury babyphones, for serious surveillance, to keep an eye on your pets, a FPV cam in your remote controlled toys…there are hundreds of useful and not so useful things you can do with it. Even if you have just a single device AirBeam is an awesome tool for motion controlled video recording.
AirBeams features in detail:
* High Quality Realtime: Watch video and hear audio on your remote device in amazing quality with resolution up to Full-HD 1080p, 30 frames per second and CD quality audio. Watch and hear in realtime thanks to AirBeam's low latency encoding and transmission technology.
* Zero Configuration: No need to manually configure device addresses. AirBeam automatically discovers all AirBeam cams on your network and you can instantly watch them.
* Multi Camera, Multi Monitor: Launch as many camera devices as you want and monitor them simultaneously. Or follow a single camera on multiple screens at the same time. On an iPad you can watch up to four cameras at a time.
* Recording: Seeing or hearing something on AirBeam you want to remember? Just press the record button and the video and audio will be recorded. You can also capture still images.
* Motion and audio detection: Trigger alarms or recordings when something happens in front of the camera to create a single track of events that happened during a day.
* Dropbox integration (requires iOS>=9): Uploads recordings directly to your Dropbox account.
* Web interface: Use a browser to watch (no audio in a browser) the live video, download your recordings or adjust the camera settings.
* Two-way audio: Audio streaming works both ways so that you can also talk through the camera device.
* Full remote control: Adjust all camera settings and access to your photo and video library remotely from the monitor device.
* Virtual reality mode: Render the video stream in stereo for watching with a virtual reality headset such as the FreeFlyVR orCardboard.
* Motrr Galileo supported: Remotely pan and tilt your iPhone camera when mounted in a Galileo robotic motion platform.
* AND COMPLETELY FOR FREE: AirBeam viewer app for Mac and AppleTV available in the Mac and AppleTV AppStore.
Important notes
=============
* Best video quality is achieved when AirBeam is used within a local WiFi network. With port forwarding configured in your WiFi router it is also possible to monitor AirBeam cameras on your WiFi at home from anywhere in the Internet. Do do this you need to configure a port forwarding for port 8123 in your WiFi router - see the FAQ pages on our homepage for more details. And check your data plan, live video over cellular consumes quite some bandwidth...
* Please consider regulations for video surveillance in your country.

AirBeam Video Surveillance Reviews

Unstable & unsupported

This should be so good but I can’t get it to reliably hold a wifi connection. I have emailed support but get no reply. Have the developers lost interest? Frustrated and disappointed.

Useless

Resolution and frame rate must be 15 years old technology.

So many options yet lacking a friendly UI/UX

I paid for this app after using another popular but free monitoring tool. Decided I need something that's got more options and higher res footage / audio. First off all. None of my devices would auto connect. I had to do that manually. Even then it was hit and miss and I'd have to set each device up every time it was assigned a new IP address, like most routers mine uses DHCP. So, I messed around setting up static IP addresses and still the issues persisted. Then I wanted to use my mac as a camera... Oh I have to pay another £2.99? But ive already paid for it. Come one... I have a free app that does iOS and OS X for free. I'm not mentioning the name of it. I just think you need to seriously look at usability for the average Joe. I'm a developer and I found it to be a pain. These days we should expect connectivity across the same eco system to be a given. I'll try again when 9.3 final release drops.

A very good app.

I've tried a few similar apps but this one knocks them all into cocked hat. It's a very slick tool that can be put to many uses. I use it to monitor my garden from a back window in the evening while I sit warm and cozy in the lounge - there's a rat problem so if one shows up, I can deal with it. I can't praise this app highly enough.

Rubbish!

Application on Mac kept becoming unresponsive which is unacceptable for me. Doesn't support horizontal video from what I could gather either which is useless! Who watches videos on tv with their tv on it's side?! Other (better) apps available. Wasted my money and time. Sigh.

Con. AVOID

It doesn't work. Even in the same Wi-Fi. It's just not able to find my computer from my phone. Other things like using a No-IP service and port forwarding in the router are Cuenca fiction. Even more. The email option: it sends you an email when movement is detected, with an attachment. The funny thing is that it only sends it AFTER the motion/movement has finished, so if the thief just closes your laptop (for example) you will never receive anything. Absurd.

Ipod Trigger

Its got great potential and looks like everything works just as it should with great UI, except the motion trigger on my iPod.. frustrating.. Unless I’m being dumb somehow, but I’ve been at this over an hour now :/

Could be great but buggy

Tick_Tock on

I've tried various settings but this latest version (which promised great new features) was disappointing. Particularly with it freezing in 'video mode' when pressing the button for a photo. If this was resolved and you could remote zoom that would give it 5 stars.
