⚠️ Warning: Multiple users of Airbnb have mentioned scam or fraud. Investigate thoroughly before using this app.
Caution before accepting terms to reserve a airbnb
Host cancelled last minute to jack up prices for a music event concert happening nearby. I felt cheated and robbed. The host only got penalized $50 while I had to look for another place 4x the price. I’ve read plenty of post about the same thing happening to other victims. The host can get away with it with a small fee.
Constantly inconsistent
I look at listing 400$, I click it shows 450$, a few minutes later it shows as 500 plus cleaning fee. This is a constant inconsistency with AirBNB, I no longer use their services.
Thieves
Use great caution when using Airbnb. Booked a trip, cancelled months in advance because of an emergency, and they ended up keeping 50% of my booking fee. Straight stole money from me for nothing. I tried to dispute the charge with my credit card and they evidently have a lot better luck than I do, because my chargeback was also denied. I hope they enjoy that $500 I spent for nothing, since I will absolutely never be using their services again. Spent well over $5,000 with them since opening my account in 2019, but that little $500 they raked me on prevents me from ever using them again. Enjoy, folks. I can’t wait to see you complete the circling of the drain and eventually going under completely.
Waiting for host to approve???
I need a room fast and on the same day. it took the host forever to accept my request And they won’t repay full amount or non refundable if you cancel the reservation. This is ridiculous!!!!
Party Risk Algorithm
Lost my trust in Airbnb, no longer a human experience. They have a “Party Risk” algorithm shut my family out from booking an extension to our Christmas holiday in London. I’ve had no issues as a renter on the app for years and am traveling with my parents, sister, and niece yet the booking being attempted with short notice and over new years was enough to flag me as high risk and reject my ability to book anything for my family for two more nights.
It’s lost its authenticity in my opinion, a booking of a trusted customer being rejected by an algorithm with no ability to give my story with customer service to correct it is really disheartening.
Airbnb is supporting illegal settlements
Airbnb is servicing illegal settlements in the West Bank in Palestine. These settlements are illegal under international law, and part of a larger strategy to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from their homeland. I encourage people to boycott Airbnb until it gets on the right side of history
Horrible
Reserve a hotel whenever possible. If hotel is not available, try everything else besides Airbnb.
Hit or miss with hosts and the app.
My first experience was great. The place was nice and neat. But my second time of finding an air bnb was so bad. The host seemed clueless about a lot of things like the pin to get in the place, the pin to get inside your actual room and also the parking ramp. Me and my friends had to literally figure things out ourselfs. It really depends on who your host is. But after my experience, I wrote an honest review about that experience. I wasn’t being aggressive or very mean in the review considering that I had good stays in the past. But Air bnb removed my review because it wasn’t “positive”. So what’s the point in doing reviews if you can’t be honest? Isn’t that pretty much scamming other ppl who are looking into the place? Idk but air bnb needs to change their polices and put their hosts in check more.
