Worst service for hosts

Airbnb has one of the least effective customer service models. I really recommend and encourage people to move over to Booking.com especially if you are running your airbnb as a business - it is miles better.

UNREASONABLE TERMS! RIP OFF!

We booked a stay and within a week had to cancel because of a family medical issue that made us change our plans. The host won’t refund us even though the booking is 2 MONTHS away and they have plenty of time to rent it. We called air bnb and they refused to issue the refund as well. We cannot support a company that allows these kind of unreasonable charges. Even a hotel would refund you with 48 hours notice of cancellation. But 2 months and they think it’s ok to keep half our money?!

Great until something goes wrong!

I’ve been an Airbnb user for many years now - we are frequent travellers and have used it around the world. Expect to have a great experience until something goes wrong! Here are two specific incidents that happened with us on Airbnb because of which I don’t recommend anyone to use it anymore - 1) We had a racist experience with a host (this has been validated with Airbnb’s response team). I didn’t want to write a bad review because I wanted to keep it private since it’s confidential - however the host wrote a horrible review on my profile. Inspite of Airbnb agreeing that the host was racist they refused to take out the review from my profile. 2) cancellation policy: I made a mistake and was late to cancel by a day - i was traveling internationally and the time zone messed it up. I apologized and tried to request for a full cancellation - however they and the host refuse to refund and I lost more than 50% because of taxes. When we travel we forget that things could go wrong - but when they go this platform WILL NOT SUPPORT YOU.

Ripped off by Airbnb host

I've been ripped off by a host in Toronto Ontario. This hosts name is Kara and they stole $300 from me and provided nothing in return. Dont ever book with this host...they are a theif and they will steal your money. Be warned!! Airbnb support was useless in their attempts to remedy the issue and recover the funds.

Hiding reviews from potential guests

4 of us stayed at an AirBnB last week and there was a town issued complaint about the mess of the lawn on the door, no step to garage (dangerous drop), fake cover on fridge (to make pictures look better), and most concerning locks on the outside of all bedrooms (against fire code and creepy). We laid this out factually in a review but when the host told AirBnB he didn’t like it they took it down. They didn’t ask us, they didn’t want proof and when we advised them we were concerned with future guests safety they ignored us. No wonder we never saw negative reviews on this property as the host has them all removed. How can you trust AirBnB? We even raised the question of human trafficking (locks on outside of all bedroom doors) and AirBnB didn’t care.

Care Home host

Stay a way fromthe Care Home Host. Booked a reservation 3 weeks in advance and decided to cancel the reservation 1 day prior left me with no place to stay. Horrible horrible.

Airbnb service fee is way too much

A 350 Airbnb “service “fee on top of a 150 cleaning fee and a 2000 for the actual home . Crazy. No thank you

HOST BE AWARE

As a host, I never get any support from the super host support team, Any time I ask for help for anything even as simple as navigating through the app all the way to damage claims, they back the guests and close your case and ignore you. Very unknowledgeable support and almost useless

Customer support is horrid

They’ll leave you out to dry and pocket your change. Quite literally the worst “support” I’ve ever received
