Use the Alberta Emergency Alert App to be informed in the event of an emergency.
Personal preparedness is everyone’s responsibility. Emergencies and disasters can occur anywhere, at any time. It is your responsibility to ensure you are prepared if an emergency or disaster occurs. Emergency alerts are issued to provide you with critical information about an immediate threat, where it is occurring, and what action you need to take.
Key features of the Alberta Emergency Alert App include:
● alerts for life-threatening and developing situations
● alerts targeted for locations you are interested in
● a Follow Me feature to receive alerts near your current location, even if travelling outside of Alberta
● geographical alert area shown on a map
● alerts can be easily shared on social media, and by email and text message
● alert details include informative emergency descriptions, impacted areas and instructions on how to remain safe
● easy to setup and use
● choose the types of alerts you wish to receive
● accessibility features allow full use by people with different abilities

Was a good app
Not liking the “what3words” attached to this app when downloaded . Tried to get rid of it but no where to unsubscribe or remove it . I do not remember having it on this app ever before! Any suggestions would help .

Took the advice and went for shelter. Not messing with Mother Nature after the EF4 between Carstairs and Didsbury July 1st.

Absolute Must Have ! All provinces should have like this
Stay on top of Alerts.. Info(s) within provide valuable information to inform and assist during emergency situations.. Even tho I’m in Ontario, I appreciate the notice(s) received, that i may contact family and friends, to ensure their safety with a quick text or call... the app must please issue more detailed map(s) with smaller towns and road names/#’s, be a major plus. Detailed mapping would helps determine proximity to dangerous zone(s) and egress in emergencies (fires, etc).. Stay safe out there

Awesome app
Waste of Alberta Taxpayers Money!
This is the absolute worst emergency alert system on the planet! You may as well wait to see the flames for all the app shows you! It doesn’t tell you where the fire is, what direction it’s heading, how large the fire is, what speed it’s travelling, etc… For all the technology we have, maybe someone that knows about it should have designed the app or maybe you should have gotten a 5 year old to design it because they could have done a better job!!!
Show Location of alert
Excellent app, but it would be MUCH more useful to show the Location that the alert is for, rather than just Parts of Alberta, which tells me nothing. If you’re looking for a previous alert for your location, you have to open each one on the list to find it.
