## Alberta Outdoor Guide Description
Discover Alberta’s Wild Side

Weekend blahs? Want to get the kids out of the house? Need some downtime away from it all?
Or looking to bring dinner home from the field or stream rather than a grocery store? Alberta
Conservation Association’s Outdoor Adventure Guide has all the reasons you need to get
outside and explore Alberta’s great outdoors all year long. Whether you like hunting, angling,
photography, hiking, berry picking, bird watching, or are just looking for an easy weekend
getaway, the Guide brings you more than 750 uniquely wild conservation sites covering a
quarter million acres across Alberta that you can access for FREE—making this the most
comprehensive outdoor recreation guide around.

The Guide app easily takes you from your backdoor to hundreds of great outdoor recreation
sites across Alberta’s big backyard. Read property profiles, pinpoint locations, find important
site updates and local weather conditions—all from the palm of your hand. Get the app, get out
and get exploring!

App features:
• Property profiles and activities at more than 750 conservation sites across Alberta
• Search the conservation site database with only a few key words
• Receive free notifications on site updates, fish stocking dates and other events
• Proximity search sites from your location
• Proximity search from city, town or conservation site

The fine print
Check the Guide carefully before planning your trip. Please ensure you consult a county or
municipal landowner map to verify the location of the conservation site and double check that
you are entering onto the appropriate property.

While there is no fee to access these conservation sites, all we ask is that you value and respect
the land as much as we do. The conservation sites identified in this guide are either private
lands owned by Alberta Conservation Association or our conservation partners (see the
Partners listed for each site), or public lands that are managed by Alberta Conservation
Association on behalf of the Crown; all are available for public use.

A majority of conservation sites in the guide require no permission to access and allow only
non-motorized recreational activities including hunting, fishing, hiking, bird watching and
photography. However, please be aware that some of the conservation sites listed do have
restrictions on permitted activities or require permission before you enter onto the site.

For more information visit our website at www.ab-conservation.com.

Thank you to our partners
This guide was made possible through the support of our conservation partners and Corporate
Partners in Conservation who aid in the securement of private land and the enhancement of
public land for conservation and recreational opportunities. Several properties featured here
have also been generously donated to Alberta Conservation Association by private landowners
across Alberta, an enduring legacy for which generations of Albertans will be thankful. We
would like to thank the Alberta Fish & Game Association and its affiliated clubs as well as Ducks
Unlimited Canada for including a number of their conservation sites in this guide.

## Alberta Outdoor Guide Reviews in Canada

### ***-- "No more pheasant sites?!?"
App used to have the option to search amongst only the Pheasant Release sites. Was really handy for pheasant hunters. Really unfortunate that they seem to have removed this function. Can’t imagine why.
-- 🔥🍆🍑, 2021-09-09

### *---- "Wouldn’t even bother"
I tried typing in my area, fishing, and 250km and nothing showed up. Tried a couple other times and switched up the search and still nothing worked.
-- t-son15, 2019-05-16

### **--- "WMU"
Wish I could search areas by WMU. The website lists what WMU and area is in but the app doesn’t. Wish I could search the app and site by WMU
-- TheLauraMichelle, 2017-11-19

### *---- "Grid feature no longer works"
Unfortunately the map feature no longer works. I wrote support but have had no feedback
-- Flatshooter, 2017-10-23

### *---- "Don't bother with this version"
This version just doesn't work on my iPad. Liked and used older versions.
-- GusApril1, 2017-04-18

### *---- "App doesn't work"
Locations in search doesn't work.
-- Zjohnke, 2017-04-11

### *---- "No gps data"
Doesn't seem to work in this version. Can't find location.
-- Rmenaar, 2017-04-09

### **--- "Needs work"
I thought this would be a great app for traveling rural Alberta but I couldn't get anything to work on my iPhone 6.. two stars are for the concept only!!
-- Don getz4u, 2017-04-09

### *---- "Great to useless"
The app received a huge upgrade earlier this year making it very useful to find the actual location of conservation areas, however the current version brings up "0" sites no matter what I've tried
-- I spit fiyah, 2016-11-21

### *---- "This doesn't work!!"
I upgraded and now the app opens to a blank page and the only thing I can see are the ad bars at the top of the page!
Can I get the old app back?!!?
I would give this 0 stars but the review won't let me. So you get 1 star!
