1. No respect for privacy at all 2. Absolutely rubbish algo that recommends shops across the river Pathetic
Horrible algorithm and user experience
Received $10 from friend and my account was restricted for fraud and counterfeiting. The online customer service does zero help and keeps looping with useless answers and links.
International Version is extremely difficult to use
Unfortunately, over 98% of the places don't accept credit card and Alipay or WeChat pay is the only option (visited May 2024). Worked less than 50%. When others scanned my QR code, it worked like 60% of the time. Sometimes it required me to enter a payment passcode, in which I never set and couldn't change the passcode. I tried changing the payment passcode and they asked for ID and did not accept my passport as a valid ID. Usually, it's larger or chain stores that scanned me...other smaller vendors usually only have a QR code up for you to scan. When I had to scan others, it was 0% success because it required the payment passcode and as mentioned above, they never let me set one and did not accept my passport as a valid ID to change it. Alipay has other options such as calling taxis, paying for public transit, etc but unfortunately, none of them worked. My Alipay was also a lot slower than the Chinese version one. It would be hold on payment processing for awhile but it would work. I would consider myself a pretty tech savvy person, and I found this app impossible to use. Additionally, you would have to click the translate button because sometimes the page doesn't translate (for those whose mandarin isn't as smooth).
Relatively easy to use. No issue so far.
I was able to add my debit card onto the app and pay vendors with no problem. There’s scatter Chinese on the English version app, but it doesn’t bug me since I’ll read both languages. I could see how it can be a problem for some though.
Too much useless information!
Who needs videos, streaming in a pay app? So confusing! Just make it simple for users, pls!
