I’d rather use Google maps
First hike was rough terrain, my wife couldn’t have done it without me assisting several times. This is not shown or warned for in the app. The map didn’t at all cover my needs on the way, no terrain on the standard map, far from exact plotting of our course on the map, when the sky got narrow because of the gorge we were hiking in, the whole system went crazy, suddenly we had climbed 200 steep wall and walked a few km detour. If it’s gonna cost, it’s gonna have to (im)prove itself!!

So slow, I am leaving
This used to be good, been a pro subscriber for years, but the slow and unreliable downloads are now driving me nuts. I am looking for a new option. Also, I was not looking for a social media app when I got this, Alltrails is trying to be something it should not be.
No warning!
As an app for finding walking trails, this app works well. However, I must score it low as I feel I was tricked by it. I only needed to use this app for one weekend, and was 80% sure I would cancel the sub during the trial. Conveniently it offered to give me a notification when my trial was about to end, allowing me to cancel, so rather than set my own reminder I set the app to do it for me. I was a little suspicious as I haven’t seen this before, and I was right to be so as no notification was sent and I was charged in full. I have since been refunded, but felt I needed to provide a warning to othered.
New interface has some major issues
Messed up completely with the new interface. Even if you chose your own route it asks you which activity it is although it is predefined in your route map. Taking photos along the route is painful experience.
