AllTrails: Hike, Run & Walk

As the title says.

In today’s economy this is a bargain as if would have bought all the maps I needed for my ramblings I’d need to stay home for half of my walks. All Trails never let me down and I hope it will stay for the years to come ❤️😍

Been using for day hikes for two and half years and it’s brilliant. 158 hikes so far averaging about 8 miles each. Easy to find trails in the areas I want to visit and the distance and difficulty I’m looking for. Like the way it records activities and builds up a portfolio of previous walks. Also can see what others like and dislike then follow recommendations from like minded people. Was getting a lot of issues with loss of signal and draining battery, but since changing to iPhone 15 works perfectly and rarely if at all, need to refer to paper maps etc All Trails support are very good. Though can be a bit slow getting back to you. Website does have some of the answers to questions.

Tried the premium on a half price deal and I’ve not gone back. It’s worth the £36 a year! It’s a little too basic on free. But it’s usable. But I like downloading my trails. Whack it on airplane mode and it tracks me and my phone’s charged all day. I love the interface, seeing pictures from other users. There’s nothing about this app I don’t like. It’s really changed my life and got me out the house. I’ve done routes I’ve never heard of and seen truly so many beautiful parts of the uk. I’ve planned out my own routes too which is a feature that’s quite fun and very practical. In the past 16 months I’ve done 26 hikes and really pushed myself physically. The app’s really kept me motivated, got to keep my streak going!

A little pricey but what a fantastic app and sync to Apple Watch is just 👌🏻

Great trail the app was brilliant nice steady climb into the forest and wonderful views. At the end highly recommend a visit to the Ludlow Brewery for a well earned pint!

Gave me confidence to walk new routes. One thing is some routes are not mapped and it’s tracked where someone has walked.

The app let me take out a free trial with no probable m, only to find out I was charged a full year subscription. AllTrails could not refund directly and are unable to explain why I was charged for a free trial. They said ‘someone at my address may have take a sun before’ which sounds absolutely a joke. I had to contact Apple for a refund as they were also unable to refund directly. This aside, I tried the app on a hike in Norway and I didn’t like it at all. Distances and positioning were never accurate, despite having Wi-Fi and GPS along most of the trail and using downloaded maps. Not recommended

From the “get directions” feature to the map and user content, it’s brilliant. I downloaded it it on holiday in Spain, where I am now, and was amazed by how well it worked. Gonna be out hiking again tomorrow.
