Amaziograph offers you a choice of 20 symmetries you can combine to draw anything. Once you touch the screen, the stroke is simultaneously drawn in multiple sections of the canvas, turning your movement into mesmerizing tessellations and mandalas.

Bought this app over 2 years ago. Stopped using it straight away. I am an artist/designer so I need nice quality lines. They are so pixelated and look awful. I really wish it wasn’t so bad, because otherwise I would love to use this app and would probably use it every day. I enjoy the features, but can’t get past the line quality at all. I use procreate 24/7 and they have a symmetry feature where I can do mandalas, and the quality is incredible. In having said that - I really hope you can improve the quality of your lines because I would love to use it again. After 2 years I opened the app in hopes you had improved it, however it’s still exactly the same. To anyone wanting to use this just for quick fun, it’s fine, but anyone who actually wants to use it as part of their art - definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Hi, I really enjoy this app even though the tools can be quite simple it helps with mandala designs a lot, however getting more and more annoyed with the freezing and lag. I have 1 file that every time I open it to draw it freezes and then it has to ‘restore’ itself, then the process repeats.

Great app however any updates are few and far between. The app has the potential to be quite powerful but lacks some major features. I’m sure there’s are more ideas to explore but here are two off the top of my head.

Firstly, There needs to be some option for smoothing, or something similar to procreates ‘streamline’ feature. As it is right now the pen is so sensitive that the line works are jagged and bumpy. It’s terrible and not consistent.

Lastly, having the option to import images into the app for inspiration, in order to trace them if you have some pre made artwork you have made from another app or google etc.

Hope to see some more features coming to amaziograph. Good luck

I’ve already rated this app some time back and again, give it top rating. I use it daily in primary schools and kids of all ages cannot get enough. I have a couple of students who like to turn off symmetry and use it as a painting app (and it works well). A request would be to be able to blend colours, i.e. if painting a sunset to blend a flaming red to a deep blue so that there is no banding.

Love this app, and use it a lot, but am increasingly frustrated with it freezing, requiring me to go back to the gallery and then reselect the image I was working on. The app is up to date, and this problem has not been resolved.

I’d love if the brush tools were fleshed out a bit more(such as control over edge hardness and better transparency granularity). Drawing guides and more features(such as using different symmetries) in the layers tool would also be great.

Just an update: A lot of what I’m asking for can actually be achieved by fiddling the settings. Long hold on everything in the app to discover more stuff.

Would be nice to have some more features especially since it is a paid app. Something like rulers and streamlining of pen lines as it’s a bit hard to make perfect straight lines with Apple Pencil like in the video you have on the home page.

### **--- "I'm A Tough Critic and this doesn't cut it"
I was looking for a mandala maker, and the only app I'd tried so far with symmetry was MediBang Paint. That app was so slow, so I tried this one. Here are my pros and cons for this app:

Pros: 
Very responsive, fast to react to the Apple Pencil
Supports layers
Has several types of tiling formats, not just a circle
You can adjust the tiling grid manually
You can change canvas size during work
You can share images and native files
You can store your artworks in collections
You can import images, but only as a background to draw on top of / fill / erase. It itself will not be tiled.
You can adjust layer opacity 
You can adjust pen and eraser opacity, size and softness, and if the stroke is solid,  dashed or dotted
You can adjust fill opacity
You can customise how stylus reacts to pressure - by size or opacity,  and what the buttons on your stylus, if any, do.

Cons: 
There is no standard HSB or hex colour picker. You have to manually mix colours together from a limited pallete. Physically mixing colours is novel but not practical and not good for commerical workflow.
You are limited to a maximum canvas size of 4096 x 4096 pixels
There is No smoothing on the brush and eraser tools, so strokes easily look jittery
Shape recognition is a bit hit-or-miss
As I previously said, you cant import images to make tiling patterns
The app can only be used in landscape view on the iPad, not portrait
You can't duplicate layers
The fill tool can be a second or two delayed when used on large spaces
Pen pressure has 3 levels: High, Medium and Low. Even when set to high, it doesn't provide enough variance for me. The variance is greater the larger your brush is. But basically if you're trying to do a brush lettering type of stroke, it won't work, the brush won't get the small-to-big change you need.
The fill tool is only discontiguous, no option to fill a space on its own without affecting other unattached areas of the same colour.

This cons list is too large for me to have any further use for this app. The four most impactful cons for me was the brush smoothness, brush pressure variance, colour picking, and being able to import images. If there areas were addressed I may return. But the app is a good start, just not enough for a commerical artists use.
