GO BEYOND PAPER
Turn your iPhone or iPad into a book with the free Kindle app—so you can read anytime, anywhere. Explore these reading features in the Kindle app:
• Read your way. Customize your text size, font type, margins, text alignment, and orientation (portrait or landscape)—and choose whether to turn pages from left to right or continuously scroll. Read comfortably day and night with adjustable brightness and background colors. Go to the Aa menu in your book to get started.
• Look up words, people, and places while you read. Breeze through words you don’t know and characters you can’t remember with the built-in dictionary, X-Ray, Wikipedia lookup, instant translations, and search within your book. Simply tap and hold a word to view its definition, or use the Google and Wikipedia links to get more information.
• Track your reading progress. See what percent of the book you’ve read, real page numbers (for most top titles), and how much time you have left in the chapter or book based on your actual reading speed.
• Bookmark places you want to revisit, and make highlights and take notes throughout your book. Open My Notebook to see all your notes in the same place.
• Hop, skim, and jump with Page Flip. Flip between pages or get a bird’s-eye view of your book with Page Flip—don’t worry, we’ll save your place.
• Zoom in on high-definition color images in Kindle books, magazines, comics, and manga.
• Sync your books across devices. When you’re reading a book, the Kindle app will automatically sync where you left off—along with any bookmarks, highlights, or notes—so you can start reading on one device and pick up where you left off on another.
• When you can’t read, listen. Switch seamlessly from reading your Kindle book to listening to the Audible book, all within the Kindle app.
• Get notified when authors you love have new releases.

Reading insights need fixed
Reading insights needs fixed. I have read daily now for a while, but now they are not recording days I actually read. It's annoying and I'm slightly annoyed/frustrated with the app. The reading insights and achievements sections have also been removed from the home page and those were what motivated me to read every day. Amazon needs to fix this or at least let us organize the home page how we want. I used to love the app but now it's junk and I've considered deleting it multiple times due to these issues.
Kindle Is Not A Book
Outrageous that the program now puts it in reduced size under a grab-all new category called “Books.” It isn’t one. Instead it is a tool for acquiring access to books. As such it should stand alone or in some other category (like “Readers,”), but it does more and is unique and should appear that way in my collection of phone programs within the phone. After all you don’t do this with newspapers, lumping them all together somewhere. Go back to prior practice and get Kndle out of this new, ill-fitting box called “Bpoks.” Stupid idea throwing it in there.
Read faster while anywhere
Kindle is awesome because it follows the words for you and you can follow it in 2X speed it has increased my words per minute and you can take books with you while traveling
Glitches
Good but a lot of glitches
Pleasantly surprised
I did not think that I would like using the candle because I thought I would miss the feel of the pages turning into a real book. I do still miss that physical contact with the pages. However, Kendall has made a very good reading app. You can change the font and size of the font in the background color in the animated affects of the turning. And, one of the nicest features is that you can highlight passages in the book and add them to your notes automatically and you can also bookmark pages. So all in all, it’s pretty cool.
Kindle books
I find it absolutely ridiculous that with today’s technology we can’t purchase books through the kindle app or even the Amazon app!!!
Library In My Pocket
Although I had a Kindle prior to the pandemic, I really didn’t use it until that period of time. During that time I downloaded the Kindle app on my phone and iPad and have been a Kindle Bookworm since with over a hundred books read and over 800 consecutively days read.
Wishlists
The app is generally great, though I wish I could see my wishlists on the iPad version, or at least have the goodreads integration be a bit smoother so I could tap on a title and it take me to the store page, way too much sifting through menus and different pages for no reason
Freeze/Crash-a-palooza
Same issue many others have reported since most recent update. It’s a great app for about four seconds, right up to the moment it freezes.
But wait! That’s not all! Tell them what else it does, Johnny! Yes indeed, Bob, it also crashes mere seconds after freezing! Every time, and it’s guaranteed to drive you nutso!
Please guys and gals, fix it asap and then it’s back to a five star app. Thanks.
Can’t purchase digital content
What is the point of the iOS Kindle app? Every title in the Kindle app says that it is not available for purchase using the Kindle app. So, what then, you have to have a Kindle in order to buy a title so you can then read it on the iOS app?
