This is the second flight in as many months that I have flown from Los Angeles to Charlotte with a connection to Charleston sc only to have my connecting flight delayed or canceled in the first instance, leading to having to sleep in the charlotte airport because I wasn’t informed early enough to leave the airport and secure a hotel. Only allowing me five hours before my flight would leave at 5 AM the next day being informed at almost 1:00 AM. As you can see, made no sense to leave the airport even if I could’ve procured a hotel.
In the second instance, my plane was delayed almost 4 hours. I took an earlier flight that was offered me but my bags failed to get on it so it made no difference. I had to wait in the airport to collect my luggage.

Please revise the new AA iPhone APP to allow legacy phone systems to operate.
     IOS 15 on my iPhone 7 still runs APPLE programs. If I could continue to use the prior AA app, I would be fine with that. The new AA app WILL NOT OPEN on my iPhone 7!

I have used this app a couple years ago successfully. Now when I start it, it says I must update the app to use, but my iPad os cannot be updated further, and the old app will no longer run. American Airlines, get a clue! The more difficult you make it, after flying hundreds of thousands of miles on AA over four decades, the less I will fly your airline!

Overall the app runs well and the design is pleasing to the eye but my issue is the navigation of the app. Some elements of the slide up pane are hidden behind the iPhone’s Home Bar (Home Indicator) or too close to it and can be accidentally triggered. One example is the Confirm button while trying to rebook a delayed flight. On one occasion, while trying to go Home to check Calendar, the Confirm button was triggered and my flight immediately changed since there are no further confirmation prompts. Maybe padding the button a bit from the Home Bar or providing a confirmation prompt after the button press would be a good UX improvement. Specially since I would imagine, my case is not isolated and the rebook option is used at a busy airport while stressed out over flight delays for Holidays, not in the comfort of home, and a button can be easily accidentally pressed, further aggravating an already stressful situation.

Running iOS 18.2 and latest version of the app and the Dynamic Island information is not displaying. It worked for 1 flight a week ago, but stopped working after the 1 flight. Force restarted the app and the phone multiple times, but still no luck getting it to work. Hopefully the developers can fix it.
