NEVER EVER works on ANY website whatsoever at all! Does NOT block AMP pages!
It’s a good app, but needs an update to deal with Google images. When you click a Google image or press the visit button, the AMP page slides up from the bottom of the Safari window instead of opening the actual page. The extension works fine with regular Google links. Edit: May 2023 and it’s now broken for Google news links. Just constantly redirects back and forth to the AMP. It’s trying to redirect but doesn’t work. Amplosion stats said it tried to redirect 240 times for one website. But couldn’t in the end. Edit: September 2023 — Dev still hasn’t updated it to work properly in Google Images in Safari. The amp pops up, but it doesn’t redirect. If you click the amp it just reloads the amp, doesn’t open the website. Disabling the extension allows you to open the website with the image. The Dev has given up on the extension, can’t recommend it.
This app brings me great joy! In one swell foop it’s neutralised the aggravating source of frustration that is AMP links! I’m so glad to see the back of either having to put up with weird browser scroll behaviour and unpredictabilities trying to share or save a link/article, or doing those extra 2 taps (and then wait) to open the link directly; neither of which is a big deal in isolation, but cumulatively adds up to time and frustration I now don’t need to expend. Many extra points for having a simple and easy to use interface, great stats for which sites you’ve amploded (tiny feature request: could we get an inclusion for how much time has passed since installing, to give a chronological anchor for how long we’ve had web-based peace? 😌), many nice custom icons, bonus Ted Lasso references, and a cute animated goodboy-dogfriend to boot. P.S. Plus, the app name is fun 💥🎉 P.P.S. Apollo is also great 😊
Quick & easy to set up, and once it’s going you never even notice it. goodbye AMP!
A great extension, hopefully another nail in the coffin of AMP.
Before this extension: rough day already, there’s an emergency of sorts and you’re trying to Google some answers, click the first result, the page starts dancing, half the content is f’d. Can’t go back. Scrolling starts misbehaving. Can’t search for some key words properly. Why the hell does the universe hate me. After: zen. I want the developer to make millions with this. Genuinely. I don’t even care that your exchange rate from dollars to pounds is…questionable. This extension is 🤌🏽
Just like apollo a great app, even keeps it fun and entertaining. Works great 5/5
This does exactly what is purports to: it redirects Google AMP links to their original source content. What more could you ask for? How about customisable app icons? That enough? No? How about a DOG that lives in the app that you can play with? Still not enough? There’s even a story about the dog and his friend. My mind really is blown at how such a simple app can go so far above and beyond, and be so good.
I’ve been waiting for an app like this for the longest time. Ever since AMP became prevalent, I’ve hated them. Pages are buggy, and never render or scroll properly. Whenever I saw an AMP page it always angered me. Because of Amplosion, I thankfully never have to see an AMP site ever again. The fastest I've ever spent money to get an app. Well worth the small cost.
