Discover the neighbourhoods of Amsterdam in a playful and informative way and win unique prizes! The Amsterdam Maps & Routes app follows scenic routes through various parts of the city or just use the app as a navigation device with the integrated map. Check in at bars and restaurants; unlock information about hotspots on your way and play challenges and answer questions by looking for the right answers on the spot. Just like that, you collect points, but only when your GPS signal shows you're close enough to the spot. Make your way to the top of the daily rankings and win cool I amsterdam-prizes, like a 48h City Card.

As a user you make your own account. In this account you choose your nationality and username. With your account you share your preferences in the settings screen. Settings like receiving push notifications and push challenges.

The Amsterdam Maps & Routes app is the result of a project of the municipality of Amsterdam, that aims to decrease the overcrowding in the city centre. In this project, Stad in Balans, residents and stakeholders of the city are asked to hand in suggestions for experiments that contribute to relieving pressure on the city centre. The best suggestions win sponsoring for the execution. The I amsterdam Maps & Routes app is one of these experiments.

Among other things, the app offers you:
- beautiful scenic routes through the Amsterdam neighbourhoods;
- a map that explains it all;
- offline maps & routes;
- the need to knows about hotspots;
- a top-ranking based on points;
- I amsterdam prizes for the winners.

Mostly a stupid game

Not helpful b cause it just wants you to play a game

Seems good but was not as expected

Entertaining for people new to A’dam and needing suggestions for routes. It did not meet my needs as I wanted to know which museums were covered by the iAmsterdam card, their hours and some brief descriptions. I also wanted to see this on a map with tram routes. I gave it four stars but it still needs additional work to make it into a gem.

NOT a map of the I AMsterdam card museums

I thought this app would have map showing the attractions that are part of the I Amsterdam card. It doesn't have this info. It instead displays very annoying neighborhood exploration games. Might be useful if you're only exploring one neighborhood at a time, but it's totally useless for planning an itinerary or for seeing on a map where the included museums are located. Very frustrating experience.
