USA Rail experience

jb51900 on

United States

I was greatly disappointed in the lack of professionalism while trying to navigate the website, during use of chats and phone calls. I can also add to the disappointment of purchasing a ticket and going cross country with attendants not even professional enough to answer questions with full sentences or respectfully answer at all!! The trains were noisy and I could not believe the filth of the windows!! It was not that enjoyable and it’s doubtful I will again unless these things have been addressed. I would also like to see more info regarding the USA Rail Pass info is dismal at best and for us, it has been a waste of money because stops were not in good locations and although there were train routes they did not apply and couldn’t be used leaving us only three stops out of a potential of 10. Sincerely Pretty frustrating and dissatisfied first time customer.

Seating on reserved trip

Sonoma Roger on

United States

There was a mention we could select our seats. But there’s no information about how to do that, or when.

WORSE APP EVER

Idskyxh on

United States

Didn’t have any of the tickets I need could find any train stations that were active , and why can this all only tell me it can’t find any routes for me and not what other ones are available

Logs you out

RuPaulToo on

United States

I tried 11 times to get tickets for a group. After being logged off before I could finish four tickets I tried doing two at time. That worked once but then I had to resort to booking one ticket at a time to keep from getting logged out. I was never able to get the last person logged in. Halfway through the app said I would have to log back in to continue, but there was no indication of how to do that short of closing the app and starting over. I got similar results working on my PC as I did on my smart phone.

No, you can’t have access to my phone!

This is a decent travel app, but recent updates have become increasingly needy about sensitive permissions. The first thing that happened when I logged in today was that the app requested my location. Why? Didn’t say. And it’s none of your business. Then, after buying a ticket, I went to add the trip to my calendar… which the app won’t do unless I grant FULL READ permissions to my calendar. On what grounds do you need to read everything that’s on my calendar? I allowed write-only permissions, but that’s apparently not enough for the app to add something to my calendar. Get your nose out of my shorts, Amtrak. It’s unseemly, and pushy.

They hire racist people

aquamaroonskywalker on

United States

Had racist remarks from Alfonzo the food concierge on Pacific Surfliner 774 on august 9th. After he made a personal call he started to make outrageous disparaging remarks towards Asians in general. I get he can refuse service, but literally didn't say anything to provoke him. I've so far have talk to multiple people from customers service and have gotten no where. I don't care what people believe in, all I care is if i pay for a service id hope not to be belittled by the employees, whose service im paying for

Looking for Alert

rqoiu on

United States

If you provide Alert for low price for From and to particular user looking destinations. That would be great for both of us

Delayed Train

**Norah on

United States

Not happy because this is the second Monday in a row that the 8:10am train has been delayed by more than 25 mins. This isn’t ok. Thanks

App that s very good except layout of profile page

Kappyva on

United States

The app functions pretty effectively for setting up trips and checking rewards program, but the spacing on the profile menu prevents from choosing the logout item. It falls behind the menu at at the bottom of the screen which means you have to scroll to pull it up, but then it goes back and you’re unable to actually logout. This NEEDS TO BE FIXED!

Full calendar access

treevis on

United States

Why does this app need full access to my calendar to add my trip to it? Why is “Add Event Only” insufficient?
