Too buggy!

Tigas7 on

Canada

I gave it a 1 out of 5. It is easy and convenient to use but has too many hang ups that cause problems in your tree. So, while I like the interface over other genealogy programs I have switched to Family Tree Maker for most of my Genealogy. Ancestry for iPhone gives “network error” or the endless circle of doom whenever adding people from hints etc. And a real buggy format for tagging media to multiple individuals. Perhaps Ancestry is working on it (I counted 25 so called updates (mostly “bug fixes”) in the last 6 months), but it doesn’t seem to be able to make a product that lives up to its hype and promise.

Can’t search from match’s tree anymore

Trinixy on

Canada

Why did you take away the search option from a profile on a match’s tree? This app is useless now that I can’t use it to build back a tree to see how I match, I can’t see my matches of matches, I can’t see beyond 20cM, sometimes I can’t even access my custom groups. Seems like you’re adding bugs, not fixing any. And removing functionality each step of the way.

Becoming unusable

Bankboy on

Canada

Two factor authentication crashes the app, deceased dates that I spent YEARS working on no longer show up. (They do show in the life story but nowhere else). These are probably just bugs that will be fixed eventually, but it is a sign of how bad it has become. All the best parts are now behind a paywall. I regret giving my DNA info to this company. I basically can’t see anything anyways now

Not accurate

Ravenfeather0424 on

Canada

I’ve had the app for a year now it’s not accurate at all did my DNA says I’m Swedish/denmark instead of just 1 it also says I have 0 Russian in me when my moms LITRALLY FROM THERE it doesn’t update anymore unless you pay for it app has gone downhill and inaccurate.

Disgusting app never buy

memesarelemons_hehe on

Canada

I have been using ancestry for about 3-4 years every single feature (that I chose this service for) is now behind a paywall I feel enraged that I ever gave my DNA to this greedy company. This app is a sad excuse for a money grab. DO NOT USE

Pleased

Grayed35 on

Canada

I am using an iPad and the app works very well. I think that the Google app on a PC and a mouse may be better but this is ok. I’ve been at it for a few months now and have almost completed my tree back to the 1700’s and have been lucky to find many family members also out there doing the same thing. The information available is at most times very general, names, dates and locations but occasionally a whole new understanding of what family history can mean is provided.

Money grab now

Vic199819173746 on

Canada

You have to pay money to see how people are related to you now, can’t see any family trees or anything. Not worth 15 a month.

Great! 👍🏻

Noahisccol637 on

This is my first time using ancestry and it is better then I thought especially learning about ancestors that you never heard of. This is one of the best apps I have ever used. 😀👍🤩

SAD MOBILE APP

MeInArva on

Canada

Rather than trying to explain all the problems I’m encountering with your IOS app let me just say this: IT IS BECOMING RELATIVELY USELESS. I know I’ll receive no response from you and attempting to use your so-called “HELP” function is worse than the app. BTW - Your “Widget” is another failure.

Stop changing things around please

YOLKPIE SUCKS on

Canada

I’m not a technical person and I find when you change things around it just gets everything more confusing and difficult not easy to use
