Instead, it takes what you type and sends it to some online service to retrieve answers; basically useless, unless you want everything you calculate going to the cloud to be used for god knows what. Nope" If you thought you can use Octave while in the subway or offline somewhere, you're sorta right but not so. You can type away but you don't get any answers. So effectively this is as useful as having a PDF documentation as reference and using your Notes app. Once you have Internet you can verify your answers and get output. 3 stars for trying but we need the real thing running locally. I am a rank beginner at it, but have made several types of plots including contour and vector plots in this app. It works fine for those.
