### **--- "Decent app but always asking for login is a real pain"
Basically that’s it. Recipes are ok, generally pretty consistent with finding the sous vide pump but there is no display of remaining time on the phone Lock Screen and app asks for login every single time it’s used despite there being no sensitive information there. Even if app is accidentally closed during a cook it doesn’t open without login. It’s a real pain

The app now requires a subscription to be used. As a long time user, I am given this for free, but I can no longer recommend the Anova products to others as a result.

I just received the Anova Precision Cooker and have been trying to connect it to this app.

It either refuses to connect or makes all the right noises and says connected, only for the app to tell me that it’s disconnected. 

I actually don’t know what the app looks like when it works as it never has for me.

I’ve had to uninstall it to even use the Anova website to see the recipes.

I’m not impressed at all. I would steer clear of it if you’re considering getting a sous vide, quality and usability doesn’t seem to be a big concern for Anova.

Every single time I want to open the app, I have to sign  in manually… this is a paid for app, mind!! 🤬 Furthermore, all the recipes are mainly UGC (user generated content), so there’s nothing professional about it whatsoever! Not exactly living up to my expectations. There are better apps and recipes out there without having to pay for this rubbish. ZERO STARS! I hate it!

Poor and unusable when using Bluetooth with the original WiFi model. Connects for a second then drops. Deleted app reset device, same issue. :( Probably part of the push to buy a new device. If I do, it won’t be Anova.

Raised it to 3 stars. Discovered that if you upgrade to v3, you need to delete your old Anova in the app settings.. doesn't tell you that in the manual.. so just about working with my iPad.. run out of patience with the phone.

Worked pretty well with my original precision cooker but horrible with v3 Cannot connect at all to my phone either wireless, Bluetooth or both. My iPad did connect but when I shut the app down I could not reconnect. Needs fixing. .. lots of reviews are pointing out these problems si it is not just me.. I am tech savvy and I see one guy sorted it by changing his SSID.. this is meant to be a consumer device.. it should work.. it must work out of the box without jumping through hoops.
