With AnyFont it is finally possible to install any additional font in TrueTypeFont- (.ttf), OpenTypeFont- (.otf) or TrueType Collection- (.ttc) format on your iPhone or iPad. These fonts can then be used throughout the system in other apps like Word, PowerPoint, Pages, Keynote and many more.

No more unexpectedly replaced fonts in presentations because the iPhone or iPad does not know them. The perfect solution for everybody who creates presentations on a Mac or PC to show them on their iPad.

NOTE: It is not possible to change the system-font on your device with AnyFont. With AnyFont you can install additional fonts on your device which can then be used by other apps which make use of the device's font book.

NOTE II: Some fonts using Cyrillic or Asian characters may not be supported by this way of installing fonts due to their size. The maximum size of a configuration profile for a font is 20 MB.

NOTE III: You don't have to purchase the optional font bundle to use AnyFont. You can always add your own fonts to install them on your device.

I have been using AnyFont for quite a number of years. It’s a nice little app to install fonts you have licensed. I believe it was one of the first, if not the first, apps to let you manage your iOS fonts. 

In addition you can purchase, for a small amount, a font bundle. I haven’t done this myself so far, since I’m not interested in these fonts, but maybe I should (to give the developers a bit of extra money). 

When installing fonts you have to click quite a few times, but simply follow the instructions. They’re straightforward.

It just works perfectly as described. It lets you install font and use them just like on you Mac/Pc. But since iPhone is a very closed system you’d need this app it install fonts! That’s sad about iOS.  

If the app could use less steps to install fonts would be great. Or if you could install font directly from iCloud Drive.

I had hoped that this would let me use my house-style fonts in the Word app, but no such luck. I tried installing a few fairly standard .otf fonts from the Adobe Arno Pro family. Same story every time: after installing the (unsigned) profile, when I try to open a .docx in Word that uses the Arno Pro font, the Word app dies with a message that there isn’t enough memory to use the profile. Bah. I’m using the latest iPad Air model, running the latest iOS, and all apps updated to open a 4-page text-only Word document. Works fine again after deleting the profile, but with substituted fonts, as usual. Argh.

Eindelijk heb ik een applicatie gevonden waarmee ik lettertypes kan invoeren in de iOS versie van Word. De app AnyFont biedt daar de mogelijkheid voor waardoor je instaat bent om de ontbrekende lettertypes toe te voegen. Hierdoor kun je de lettertypes van de desktopversie en de iOS-versie van Word gelijkstellen waardoor de .docx bestanden nog beter uitwisselbaar zijn. Het invoegen van die nieuwe lettertypes is vrij eenvoudig en hun website beschikt over een eenvoudige videohandleiding die laat zien hoe dat moet.
