Anyplay Audio books & stories

Back in 2024 I left a raving 5 star review. I’ve used this app for over a year and loved it! But this year it’s been so so frustrating! Back in January I lost access to all the books because the app kept insisting I had no internet connection. Even though I did. I’ve seen others complaint about this issue too in the reviews. Despite multiple emails to the support email I heard nothing from them. It took a few week but then they must have fixed the issue and I was back loving the app. But now, in March, I’m having a similar issue, I can’t play ANY books. The app is pretty much unusable. And I’ve tried over 25 books. I get the same error message and can’t play a single book. The error message I’m getting is ‘Book unavailable. This book has recently been withdrawn by the publisher in your territory’. Which must not be accurate because it’s literally every single book. The only books I can play are ones I’ve previously listened to. I’m paying $150 a year for the use of this app and it’s getting really frustrating with all these issues. And to top it off, the fact that nobody ever reply’s to the support email is so annoying! I just want to report the issue and know someone is working on fixing it! If this isn’t fixed soon I’ll be cancelling my subscription. Which is so disappointing because this app truely is amazing when it works.

I love love love this app! It’s the most affordable way to listen to audiobooks and I really like the selection. I also like that it’s truly unlimited, unlike a similar app that seems to have listen limits. I am an avid reader but can only read audiobooks due to dyslexia, so this app makes it so much more affordable to access books! I recommend it to all my audiobook loving friends.

Pros: The book selection is great! For the price and variety you can’t beat it! So far it also seems like it’s actually truely unlimited listening, unlike a similar app that has publishers limiting access to a bunch of titles after a certain amount of listen time. Cons: All of these limitations make the app cumbersome and annoying to use. Please add these features! 1) You can’t past any test into the search box. 2) You can’t tap on an author from a book listing to then see all their other books. 3) There is no organisation for books in a series. If you want to see if an entire series is on the app you need to leave the book listing, type in the authors name, find their catalog and then scroll all their books to see if all the books in a series are there. 4) The playback speeds are extremely limited. Other cons that would be nice additions but not as annoying: 5) The book cover doesn’t show up on your phone or car’s player, it just says ‘Anyplay’. 6) There is no iOS playback widget.

I always loved podcasts, but would I enjoy audio books? Well the answer is a big YES!!! I love the sound quality & the user friendly nature, and also the choice of narrators. Really enjoying it!

I’ve always wanted to start listening to audio books and Anyplay makes it so easy and enjoyable! I love the layout and all the content available is great. Highly recommend!!!

I love this app! The narrators are all so easy to listen to and they set the scenes so well! It’s easy to find whatever you’re looking for and to play and pause all the audiobooks! Definitely worth getting a premium account!

Love this app! You can download and listen later, blown away with how many books there are on here. You can press play on the app and close out of the app and it will still play which is so handy.

I was always a bit hesitant how much I would like audiobooks but I have very much enjoyed listening to these books. Even while working I have managed to pay attention to an audiobook and still get work done. I have very much enjoyed the variety of fiction and non-fiction books and they narration style of the books I have listened to.

The app is good, but I want to cancel my plan, however the mange subscriptions does not work. It does not open when I press on it. I do not have time in the new year so I want to cancel the renewal. Not sure if it is my mistake, but “manage subscriptions” is in blue, everything else opens up in that colour. I cannot find any other place to manage the subscription from. It is frustrating.

Every time I open the app or unpause from where I paused 5 minutes ago, it starts the book from the beginning. It is very annoying
