It helps us confirm that the requests being made for your accounts are genuine. If you’re using ANZ Internet Banking, you’ll need the ANZ Shield app to authenticate certain payments and activities. For ANZ Internet Banking for Business users, you’ll be asked to provide a Shield Code to authenticate all third-party payments. Why do you need ANZ Shield? Faster and secure access to high-value payments • For Business customers, ANZ Shield is quick and easy to register so that you can get on with the things that matter. No more waiting for a security device to be. • For personal banking customers, registering for ANZ Shield gives you quick access to higher payment limits. No need to visit a branch to take care of that payment. That’s handy. Convenience without compromising your security • In the past you may have used an SMS one-time passcode, challenge questions or an ANZ security device to authenticate. Now you can easily complete ANZ Internet Banking activities with your phone and a Shield Code. • Access the ANZ Shield app wherever you are – even if you’re travelling overseas. It works offline, when you might not have mobile network coverage or internet connectivity. It’s free – no fees involved • ANZ Shield is a free app. Once the app has been installed and registered on the device, data usage is not required to generate a Shield Code. Need help? Last updated 4 years ago. Nice! Trying to make a payment online and it’s directing me to authenticate in this app, which ask for a sync code to obtain it back in the mobile app, but guess what, the option suggested isn’t there. This cost me financial loss because I couldn’t make the payment when I needed as it had a deadline. Nice! Go to He!! I rather say! The mobile app is also the worst among 10 other financial institutions I use. Build in 1990’ and last updated probably in 1990’. USELESS! The only app (online as well) you can’t do a balance transfer from another bank. Also, it may lock your account towards the end of the registration process under certain conditions (such as if you had tried to transfer money recently). When that happens, you are forced to call the helpline but in my case it took nearly 1h of wait to get through to someone! Once setup, the app works but a 25k transfer limit is inappropriate these days so you have to do multiple transfers for larger sums. Then most times it takes 5 or 6 tries for the code to change.
