 1 year later, I went alone to CalTech with my beloved holy pool slippers and search for internet connection to find Kip Thorne’s office. Being observed spying for information on the internet and going to his office I was confused with a homeless person and security warned me.

I told them of supercilious professors who would never introduce me so I have to introduce myself, a difficult security problem of safe introduction to a community.

That night after I went to a meeting where Paola Arletta was giving a talk and, like people who were actually students at CalTech, I felt like an orphan. I chemistry reassured me I was not alone in this at CalTech. Suddenly plunged into a milieu of geniuses, one’s existential position is threatened by not being on top of a high school class, you see.

Orphan’s are an archetype for hero, but there is a dark side, they can be mean.

But, I had witnessed the heroics of Jack Pettigrew 30 years earlier while I visited as I studied in government optics. There I found “a mountain climber who would not quit” (went to Robert H. They also took away the ability to add modes to a favorite list for extra fast access. Everything good gets ruined eventually because of corporate greed…didn’t expect ensh*tification to come for Apollo too, but here we are. What a huge disappointment. It is actively stressful to use Apollo now because of the hostile UI for free users - it undoes any stress benefit the device is meant to give! Such a shame they sold out. At least they listened to the reviewers and added an option in settings to change the default home screen. They need to make an option to ONLY show the core vibes that come with the device and get rid of this hostile UI. My review would be much higher and I might actually recommend it to others again if they fix that. I also don’t want to subscribe and be forced to let their AI have access to my data. Mostly because I had a hard time staying focused, which is pretty important because I work in the field on complicated systems and teach in the evenings. I’ve taken behind the counter drugs to attempt to remedy this, but the side effects weren’t worth it. I broke down and finally purchased an Apollo to wear and I was genuinely impressed with my results. I would recommend the Apollo to anyone who lives with ADHD or just struggles to quiet their mind when meditating or attempting to sleep. My favorite Vibe is the new Study Vide. My best description is it’s like someone is holding your hand through your mind fog and brings you back into your body.
