This is a brilliant app. All the focus has clearly been on creating a seamless, intuitive and powerful sketching/ note-taking app. If that's all you're looking for, without for example, templates, then it’s arguably the best available for the money. The problem is that there is no way of sorting or organising you files,so you just end up with loads of files and no way to organise, filter or searching for them, creating a real issue once you start using it frequently.
Whilst other reviewers point out that this is a viewer this is totally unclear from the naming of the Mac App. Truly baffling. The help reads more like an intro into Tau or mysticism rather than something that gets to the point of how to use it.
I think the very negative, one-star review comes from not reading the guide (which is perfectly clear) and believing that the Mac app is the main app (it's not; all it does is pick up what you're doing on your iPad/iPhone; that's the whole point!). The Mac app is limited – the developer calls it a "viewer app" for a reason: it allows you to open notes created on your iDevice, and scroll around the (infinite) canvas. The infinite canvas is the really useful thing here! The actual notes are edited/saved/exported on your iDevice; the Mac app doesn't have any extensive functionality apart from viewing. You can, of course, always take a screenshot of specific areas of your infinite canvas if you so wish. Whether that's useful to you will depend on your needs. There are many other drawing apps for macOS/iOS that do more. What I personally like, when drawing stuff on my iPad, is the fact that I hvae an infinite canvas – not many apps provide this functionality at such a low price. I would love to see export capabilities on the Mac app; I think that's an unfortunate omission, hence my deduction of one star. But otherwise, it's a good app!
This app is perfect for making notes and mind maps, however if your doing something important probably export it because I just lost all my documents free the app decide to constantly crash. It would be nice if there was some sort of account feature to ensure your documents will always be saved even if you delete the app.
Really good app- but it has a limited zoom - I am not able to zoom out far enough to see the whole canvas
Stopped working 04.05.2021 and I have lost all my notes. Fails to load, just crashes every time since iOS update. A good app when it worked, clearly not maintained and I’m £6.99 out of pocket 1 month after purchasing the premium version.
I am mystified by this app. It opens with as sample note that I can't edit and it does not allow me to start a new note. I'd give it zero stars if I could.
Ive been searching for a good note taking app for online learning which is compatible with the apple pencil and has page settings and rulers and thinness of the pen, this makes my handwriting really good. You must get this!!!
It was very laggy and it wouldn’t let me zoom in which was very frustrating it was also very minimalistic :((
