Freeform is a great place to bring your ideas to life. Sketch out a project, design a mood board or start a brainstorming session on a flexible canvas that supports almost any kind of file. And with iCloud, all your boards stay in sync, whether you’re on your Mac, your iPad or your iPhone.

Unleash your creativity
• Add photos, video, audio, documents, PDFs, web links, stickies and more anywhere on a Freeform board, perfect for creating a digital pinboard, collecting research for a school project or gathering inspiration for your home renovation.
• Use your finger, or Apple Pencil on a compatible iPad, to draw anywhere on the canvas. Choose from a variety of brush styles and colours. 
• Create beautiful diagrams with a library of over 700 shapes and alignment guides to help make your document look just the way you’d like.
• Scan paper documents with the built-in document scanner to archive documents and even annotate them if you’d like, directly on the board.

Collaborate with others
• Invite your friends or colleagues into your board for real-time collaboration. Freeform brings people together into a shared space for creativity, whether you’re at your desk or on the go. Easily invite others via email, link or Messages. 
• Brainstorm together with up to 100 collaborators in the same board. 
• Communicate with Messages or FaceTime. When you’re working on a board with others, you can jump into the associated Messages conversation or start a FaceTime call with your collaborators with a single tap.

With writing notes, it starts to lag dramatically to the point where it’s not useable. It also won’t allow to download to PDF when it gets to this point. Will also randomly shutdown when it tries to think too hard. 

Files that I’m trying to create aren’t anything too dramatic or complex, or large but I feel it should be able to work

I was using the app for close to a month as a planner for a project. One day it randomly crashed on me the after opening the file it had deleted over 3/4 of my hand written notes from the last month with no way of recovering any previous version of the board. I won’t be relying on it for future projects.

Poor stability! I use the iPad version. Every time I use it for a while, the software will crash. When the software runs in the background, it will restart in less than half a minute, causing me to look at the white screen for five seconds every time I cut back from another software. This is a very bad experience. I believe it's not a hardware problem. I'm using the 2024 version of the m4 chip iPad. In terms of function, I think freeforms is much easier to use than goodnotes, but the stability is too poor. Please strengthen it.
