Penguin Isle Reviews

Can't restart game

:< :> on

United States

I've been having trouble trying to delete my save data on this game. The last time I played this game was around 4 years ago. I made some progress that saved in my iCloud data and redownloaded the app a few days ago. I've been having trouble trying to figure out how I can reset the app because I don't entirely know how to play the game. The only option I've found to reset the game is to switch phones or reset my current phone, neither of which I am planning on doing. It seems like a great game though.

Good game.. BUT

The game is a fun, nice, and calming little game to play to reduce stress or whatever may be troubling you. The penguins are adorable, but I have two issues with the game. The first being that per event pass you get one free penguin to that theme which I understand, but then if you pay 4 dollars you get the premium pass which only includes one other penguin. I feel that if I pay 4 dollars I should get more than the one penguin. I would like to maybe get a few more on the paid pass, or maybe some structures that have to do with that theme. My second grime is the event resells, those include one penguin fit 2k gems and if you once again pay 4 dollars you get literally only one penguin. Maybe make it to where if you pay the 4 dollars you get both the gem one and the paid one rather than having to waste gems as well as 4 dollars. Again just a few suggestions but I feel like there’s so much potential of more unique penguins. GREAT GAME!!

New habitats, New stuff

I played this game a long time ago, I stop playing it because their nothing new except two penguin for each update. It been over a year o two where we don’t have any new habitats, o new mini game, etc. I miss the back olds days when a event you had different decorations, penguins or animals. This game started to be pay to get things which I don’t mind cause it’s a business but give us more than just two things o 4 which are costumes

Limited and pay to play

This game is slow paced with beautiful graphics and some open-ended options to customise your island. This is what drew me to the game. It's a classic gacha game with the standard exploitative menus/events/"deals" to pay real money for in game benefits; I knew this coming into the game, and I've spent quite a bit on custom decorations and events. This was consciously and within my budget, but if you are worried about how you'll spend money, maybe avoid this game. This is a classic "make the numbers go up" game, which can be pretty mindless. I mainly have this app open while I listen to audiobooks or podcasts since it doesn't divert my focus in a distracting way. The pacing of coin generation to habitat growth isn't always the best - I'm doing everything in the order I think the game is driving me towards as far as prioritizing habitat evolution vs leveling up, but I still find myself in periods where I either have so much excess coins that I need to button smash for several minites to level up habitats, or on the flip side struggle my way forward for several days until my coin generation catches up. My one star review is mainly because I am fairly deep in the game, and I still have many custom and unique penguins that I haven't unlocked yet, BUT I just reached the newest breed of standard penguin you unlock as you go, and whenever I create one I get a banner message that I've exceeded the number of penguin types I can add, so it loads the appearance of a previously unlocked penguin instead. I'm nowhere near the max # of penguins my island can support. This is ONLY a limitation of how many unique penguins the game can render at once, as best I can tell. I want to stress again that I'm not even in the late game (I've only just started expanding the amusement park rides). If this is something I'm consciously spending time and money on, I expect to be able to actually collect new penguins, not get a "new penguin" in an old skin I already have. As far as I'm concerned, if I can't load the appearance of this next level of penguins, there is zero point progressing in the game. The entire collection process that has kept me coming back has been undercut. Very disappointed. TLDR: beware if you're wary of spending real money. Chill and beautiful graphics. By midgame penguin collection plateaus and is pointless. Don't recommend

Best Penguin Game Ever

J.L.Penguin on

I am a lifelong lover of penguins, and this game has it all: solid depictions of multiple penguin species, accurate penguin facts, landscaping, carnival rides, and penguins that use power tools. The balance of information and whimsey is perfect. The structure of the game keeps the game interesting as the optimum strategies shift as you progress through the levels, whether you focus on coins or hearts or items. It starts off quick, but by the time the new habitat/penguin acquisition starts taking longer, there's a lot to see and do, so it never seems like a grind. The penguins have so many cute behaviors! My favorites are the ATM, slides, and the Octopus Ride. The ads can get a little repetitive, but the fact that you earn gems for watching ads on top of getting whatever thing you were watching the ad for makes them a bit less irritating. I also appreciate that the in-app purchases are truly not required; they'll make things faster, but with patience you can enjoy a legitimately free to play game.

How is there no way to restart my progress on this app???

I love this game. I played it a while back. Today, I wanted to redownload it so I could replay the game from scratch only to find out there is ZERO WAYS TO RESTART THE GAME. So frustrating and now I don’t want to play it.

4 stars

CutekittyKATT on

I gave it four stars because even though its a really fun game with lots to do, i have been stuck on trying to get the whales nest for MONTHS. Like since august last year. Like the highest i can get know on money is about 196.34 aq. Its not even close to what you need. It was my brother’s favorite game because he loves penguins, but now he never plays it because he cant get close to finishing.
