Apple Books FAQ
Is Apple Books free?
Yes, Apple Books is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Apple Books legit?
⚠️ The Apple Books app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
I really like this app and I use it a lot. The only issue I have with it is the double tap to bookmark feature, because I keep accidentally bookmarking things every 20 seconds.
It would be wonderful if you could come up with another way to bookmark instead of the double tapping.
I thought the idea of an update was to make things better
Things to look forward to:
Lose progress when a "Book Content is not Available" message pops-up
Annoying "buy me now" banner when you're reading a sample (I end up buying most of the books I sample, but thank you for reminding me I am not doing that enough)
Cluttering of the look-up function: now you can see results from your search engine and amazon (why?)
Where’s the kids sections?
This app sucks like most of apples software since Steve has gone apple are behind and it’s getting less and less intuitive this platform apple has is crumbling!
Disappointed
Doesn’t have all the books and I couldn’t even buy a book I wanted to read after I read the samples.
A step back
The new iOS 16 version is a big step back from the previos version. The second worst new «feature» added is that when the scroll-down mode is activated, the touch of the screen when scrolling is frequently (seemingly on a random basis) interpreted as a doubleclick, which adds a bookmark. So you end up with a bookmark on almost every page - unless you doubleclick again to remove it every time it happens. Pretty useless.
The worst new «feature» is that using larger fonts hide some parts of the text. This moves from very bad to completely unacceptable, and hence hereby my money back claim for all books I ever bought, since they are no longer readable.
What a shame, this app used to be so good. What on earth changed? Who is responsible for this??
Money or the previous version back!
Last update destroyed marking
Has been all good up until now, but with the apple pencil to use as a reading / marking tool all the zen (S.Jobs) initial smoothness is gone. If it is working why make changes, and why make them worse if needed to make them? Is there a way to download the previous IpadOS? Last: is it possible to customize settings somehow (dont need the zoom for knowing what i already marked for example, and I want to be able to double-tap what is already marked to change from yellow to red underline - would be great to be able to set red underline as default to.) The app should stay simple, if any features customization internally in the app. Surely Steve Jobs would agree.
Annoyed reader
I hate the new layout of the the app in the book after the IOS update. PLEASE go back to the old one, where it looks like there are actually pages that folds etc.
Apple TV
Not even Apple bothers to support Apple TV. Is there a message here?
bytt an tilbake
den nye versjonen er ikke like bra som den gamle
iOS 16 version is garbage.
A horrible update that brought the app close to being unusable. Absolutely atrocious.
