Apple Sports Reviews

Great concept but not enough content

UnlikelyPython on

United Kingdom

This is a great sports scores app. It looks good and works well. Its only fault is that it doesn’t have enough sports and leagues. It’s far too USA focused but to be useful in the rest of the world it needs other sports and more leagues. Personally I’d like to see Premiership Rugby and the 6 Nations added. Lower leagues in UK football. International football and rugby would be nice. GAA scores would also be amazing but that’s a fairly niche audience I guess. When this app first came out I thought it would slowly add more sports and so I started using it. Unfortunately I’m starting to think that I’m going to have to find another alternative as the team behind it don’t seem to want to add more sports.

Lack of live updates

Khatibinho on

United Kingdom

No real time updates on live match and sometimes delay to reports live events.

Embarrassing live updates

jamesdgutteridge on

United Kingdom

I like the updates to the app, especially the Dynamic Island and live notifications. BUT, the live notification commentary is a little embarrassing.. been following the Man City v Everton match on live notifications today and I’m getting text in the live updates that says “Jack Harrison crosses to Erling Haaland in the box” - they play for opposite teams! Another one I got said something about Savinho crossing to a player who plays for Everton. Not sure if this is the same issues we see with the AI summaries in Apple notifications now, but not the best experience!

Useless

YUR1M on

United Kingdom

Imagine a multi trillion dollar company not even being able to include all European football leagues in a sports app… no stats, nothing… basically any other sports app on the store is better. Very nice UI though :)

No way to turn off betting

YTY1975 on

United Kingdom

The app looks nice but is pretty basic. LiveScore is much better. Also, I have a real issue with Apple including betting odds with no way to turn them off. Seems like a really irresponsible thing to put betting front and center with no opt-out. I expected better from Apple.

Brill ent but flawed

Dark Pain on

United Kingdom

It a polished app as you would expect from Apple, but it fall short, you get stats but no team formation the in game view is minimal so not engaging. Lacks a number of other sports and even leagues such as international football, Japanese league and so on. So very well done but want this to be a comprehensive app where there is so many alternatives who do it better and also free.

Missing features.

JoroKolev85 on

United Kingdom

As expected from Apple it’s a nicely designed app but it’s missing essential features like live score alerts, video highlights and widgets. Hopefully they will continue to improve it and also bring it to the Mac because it desperately needs sports alerts and widgets.

Needs Apple Watch and iPad screen support

A good start but pretty basic at the moment.

SUPERB NOW!

Privacy_for_life on

United Kingdom

You don’t often see Apple actively listening to complaints of fans that feel passionate about but this might be the sign that everything is changing. This app has quickly managed to turn itself into my favourite one and Apple has done a superb job resolving all the major issues.

Very limited leagues

ElliotHaloran on

United Kingdom

Almost a year and EFL, Rugby League & Union still hasn’t been added, totally useless for UK sports fans.
