AppRaven: Apps Gone Free

AppSliced worked well, this does NOT. It is not cross platform. I can use it on my iPhone, so one star for that, but I’ve lost the Mac version. They deleted their web app. At last the iPhone app seems to be able to track some of the Mac apps too, so another star for that, but AppSliced was an easy 4 star app. This is not, and hopefully it will get better. AppSliced was not perfectly, and often misrepresented apps as free that were not, and so far, that’s still the case. But to be fair, the Mac App Store does that too. The MAS is a little better at making that clear, where this app conceals the truth. They mark a lot on special as a free limited time download, or change, and then you find out after installing it, that it’s not free at all. But again, that’s really a shady dev and Apple problem.

I was using the now defunct website version for over a decade and I loved it, but I felt some conveniences were missing. This version, I really love. The searching and filtering are so much easier. I know just what went on sale today so I don't have to look further than the truly recent. I had been using the developers website for so long, knowing that Apple had stopped affiliate commissions years ago and that I'm not an "ad clicker", so I immediately took the opportunity to pay the Lifetime in-app-purchase as a thank you for years is service. I've saved *hundreds* (maybe more) using this service. A BIG thank you to the developers.

I used to be a daily user of appsliced.co -and look forward to the new functionality provided by this app. I have saved by catching apps on sale or even free - and I’ve found out about apps I didn’t know I needed.

We all know that the App Store loves to recommend the apps that claim to be freemium but in reality are borderline unusable without a $100+ yearly subscription so they can get their sweet 30% share of the cash. The actual good deals are unprofitable to them and are seemingly so hard to find. Well no more. Want to find basic commonplace productivity apps that won’t charge you triple digits every year to use? Want to cut out all non one-time purchase games without having to sort through mountains of micro transaction trash? AppRaven is for you. The user curated lists are just a bonus! I’m never browsing in the default store again!

This is the most powerful app tracker and app collection management you'll find, complete with its own community, personal and public app collections, recommendations and reviews, and app tagging to make them even more practical to find. It's more than just an app to notify of daily deals (which is only the surface of its true potential), you can get notifications for updates on specific apps, pricing history, IAP sales (all with configurable price thresholds), app availability (handy if your favorite app vanished from the store and you want to know if it comes back, or for knowing which apps you shouldn't delete). You can get notifications for sales from a specific dev, or new apps from that dev, or from that cool collection filled with nice apps that you found. You can check for country availability and see reviews for different app store regions all from the app too! You can keep track of apps and IAPS you own, and create collections to organize better (or simply browse public one where someone did the great work of curating the best of certain types of apps for others). If by any chance you're overwhelmed by the options at first, please still give it a chance, the basic functions are actually simpler than they look, you don't have to use even all the features if you don't want to, but they're there if you ever do! Also, this app has a tremendously thoughtful dev who's constantly improving the app, and listening to user feedback to make the experience better for everyone.

Amazing app to find the perfect game / app that might be hidden or buried on the App Store itself. Can we just replace the App Store with AppRaven? Great developer as well! Couldn’t recommend more!
