## APRS TX Description
APRS TX allows licensed Ham Radio operators to beacon their position details to the APRS-IS network using the internet.

The following information is sent in each position packet:

* Latitude
* Longitude
* Speed
* Altitude
* Bearing
* Beacon message (22 characters max)
* APRS Symbol

Now includes messaging between APRS stations.

Within the app you will need to specify your Callsign and Passcode. Pass codes are only available to licensed Ham Radio operators.

Passcodes can be generated here: www.dstarcomms.com/aprs

Within the app you may change the following information:

* Callsign
* Passcode
* APRS-IS Server URL
* Beacon Message
* Beacon Time Interval
* APRS Symbol for choosing which icon will be displayed on APRS maps.

You may also use this app on iPad devices but a continuous location will be required, normally through GSM or WiFi.

Please note: This app uses the GPS feature of your device. Continued use of this app may drain the device battery sooner.

Please email matt@dstarcomms.com if you have any feature requests or bug issues. If you leave feedback reporting an issue I have no way of communicating with you to resolve the issue.

## APRS TX Reviews in United States

### ***** "A#1"
Beat APRS I have found that doesnt extort you for a "subscription" or cost an arm & leg.
I appreciate that its not loaded with bloatware "features" that I dont want and dont need.
Clean, smooth, efficient, and does exactly what it's supposed to for a modest price and without the "feature clutter" of some apps that try to be eveything to everyone.
All apps in the store should be like this one.

### ***** "Great APRS Beacon App"
Works as advertised! Clean interface. Intuitive settings.
-- Papafoxjuliet, 2022-02-27

### *---- "App is broken"
Generating passcode does not work. App is broken. Do not buy.
-- Kyles ipad12345678901, 2021-12-22

### ***** "Works great!"
The best. I can’t find a flaw in this app. Maybe a switch to keep the screen on full time, or maybe there is one and I just haven’t found it.
-- Rosea1, 2021-03-16

### ***** "Great APRS app for iPhone"
I have had this app for a while and use it daily and really like it. The fact that you can send and receive APRS messages are great. The best part is you can change your beaconing icon is great and even apply a message for others on APRS.fi to see.

### ***-- "TX Only"
It sends your position only. The map is only useful if stationary. If you are in motion you can’t zoom out, it keeps resizing to zoomed in. You cannot see other nearby stations or navigate to them.
-- Jim Roch., 2019-08-24

### ***** "Great App and support"
Downloaded the app, I needed help setting it up and Matt was fast and accurate. Great!
-- Saxman29111, 2018-10-11

### ***** "KD9KCK"
Very simple to use. And developer is quick with support if needed.

Works nicer then my python based APRS Tracker on my phone. Though it would be interesting if Smart Beaconing could be implemented. (Not just time based.) still 5 out of 5!
-- wgaylord, 2018-05-08

### ***** "Exactly what I needed!"
I wanted an easy to use and intuitive app with minimal configuration and fast learning curve. This app does exactly what I expected which is to transmit my position to the aprs network via internet (cell network) and show me on the APRS.FI website which is searchable by call sign. This enables my loved ones to see my position on the web. Problem solved, thank you Matthew Miller!
-- BrianJester, 2018-01-18

### *---- "Map only shows me"
APRS TX does transmit/ receive my position via the APRS-IS server network. However, it only displays me on its map even though know many other APRS reporting hams are located & active on APRS. Plus it’s map display is too small & not adjustable.
