This is the official iPhone and iPad application of aprs.fi, the favourite APRS navigation site of the amateur radio world. Please read this application description fully - some features require an additional in-app purchase.

Some new features require a subscription. All old and some new features will be available without a subscription fee. These features are currently included in the Extra Features subscription package:

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

GPS is not required for viewing APRS information.

You pay £6.99 just to find out that you have to subscribe to get anything useful out of it. Stick to the website, it has many more features.

Great app for aprs

I’ve used this app for some time. It has matured nicely and is the best aprs app by a mile. If you also use the aprs.fi website it’s a great way to support the developer.

Original below. I was delighted when the TNC modem was introduced but having paid for the additional functionality last year, the app no longer works on my old iPhone 5 (iOS 10) which I had dedicated for APRS for RAYNET. So now my main phone has to be tied up as a TNC. A retrograde step IMHO. {I have been using Aprs.fi for several years now and found the app to have worked faultlessly on iPhone 5 and 6 for beaconing during RAYNET operations and more recently for personal use whilst out cycling the tracks and greenways during lockdown. Having the map running on the iPad at home gives my wife the reassurance of knowing where I am, just in case.....} de G8HKS

Have been using this app for a few years now and as i have several aprs apps on the phone i can say that this is always the first if not only one i open. others perform different functions. this app lets you see historical snapshot of the last few hours which i think is a lot better that the others that when you open them just let you see the current incoming aprs positions. for example if i go out into countryside and have no phone or wifi signal and i want to know retrospectively if my rf beacons have been received then this is the only app that enable this. beaconing from the app itself is very simple and unlike the other aprs apps doesnt crash the phone or make it laggey. very smooth to operating and very good menu features also.

Running on iPhone XS and full screen looked ok before this update and still looks ok😮

Great app, just one option missing

Great app, much easier than trying to use the aprs.fi site on mobile, however please can you add an option to switch off the blue “my position” icon? Often this obscures my last packet (say if I have just pulled up) and makes clicking on it impossible. Thanks!
