Excavators, Utilities, and homeowners can submit locate requests directly from their phone or tablet. If you are at the location where you need your request, with just a push of the get location button, you can provide Arkansas One Call a latitude and longitude point of your location. The Arkansas One Call Mobile App also provides links for APWA color code, news, and upcoming events. Existing Arkansas One Call portal users will also be able to access their existing account. Entry page isn’t even setup for proper viewing on mobile devices. No ability to review or search for outstanding tickets already called in. I guess maybe if you are a design member or a surveyor it could be a completely different story but as an excavator, and frequent caller, it’s more frustrating than just calling in to the hotline with each question or concern. If done correctly this app could eliminate a large portion of calls requesting locates, advising of change orders, simple inquiries related to existing/pending tickets; all of which are currently handled, entered, and routed through a live operator.
