What is ASCAP?
ASCAP is the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, a performing rights organization (PRO) representing over 1.1 million of the greatest songwriters, composers and music publishers in the world. We’re the only PRO in America operating on a not-for-profit basis, and the only one that puts creators first.

We get you paid when your music is played
ASCAP’s main job is to pay you royalties when your music is played publicly by the businesses we license. And we’re really good at what we do! In 2024, we achieved revenues of $1.835 billion, and distributed $1.696 billion to our songwriter, composer and publisher members.

We put music creators first
We pay our members all of the music licensing revenue we take in, minus our operating expenses (among the lowest in the industry). Our governing documents require us to pay music creators first – a claim that only ASCAP can make.

We’re led by music creators like you
ASCAP is the only PRO in the US founded and governed by songwriters, composers and music publishers. Every decision about how we operate is made by music creators like you – not broadcasters, corporations and investors, like our competitors.

We innovate
ASCAP offers the most advanced data processing systems of any PRO, to ensure that you get paid fairly and accurately. Our ASCAP Lab explores how new technologies and new business approaches can drive value for our members and the businesses that use their music.

## ASCAP Reviews in United States

### ***** "Great app; app loader with "inspirational" quotes...not so much."
A spinning icon - something akin to the data load progress wheel while scanning titles - would be ideal. The (not really) thought provoking gems one must tolerate before logging in are a better fit for the bin rather than the app.
-- Nunyabidnassaz, 2026-09-07

### ****- "I think it is great!"
I think this app is overall great. However it keeps on randomly logging me out claiming that the app has been inactive despite not being inactive. It happens when I press buttons like the settings button or when I search to connect with someone. Also how can you become both a writer & publisher if I’m already on the only writer plan or is that not possible?
-- RKBshark, 2026-04-22

### ***-- "Love but please add cue sheets"
Please add cue sheets to the app!
-- fakehead, 2026-02-10

### ***-- "Accessibility"
Love the app of what I can use of it. But I must say it definitely needs some work. The accessibility portion is not completely functional. Not everything is screen reader available on the iPhone. Definitely need some work there, but I do love the app. And willing to work with you guys if you want some help with the accessibility.. that kid adjusted I would give it five stars.

### ****- "Won’t let me add a profile picture"
The app works pretty well and is a must-have for musicians. The only issue I’m having is that I can’t upload a profile picture. I get a message that says “there was a problem uploading your image”. I’ve tried using different images, different image formats, and clearing the cache, but nothing has worked. It’s a very minor issue obviously. Just thought the developers would want to know.

### *---- "Signing Up"
I’m having a problem signing up, not only in the app, but on the website too. All I get is a blank page online.
-- 0.Onyx.Rose.0, 2025-08-18

### ****- "Nice app but"
I’m glad that there is finally an app where I can review my publish works plus additional information. However, I don’t understand why there isn’t a calendar for distributions?
-- songkitten, 2025-04-02

### ***** "Great app but"
Loving the app so far but I noticed that on the website I’m able to see the ISWC of my song but on the app it only shows the ISRC.

Hopefully the developers add this so we don’t have to keep heading to the website.

Btw super easy to register a work through the app, no issues whatsoever, thanks.

### ***** "Essential App for Music Creators on the Go!"
The ASCAP mobile app is such a helpful tool for managing my work as a rights holder. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, so I can quickly check royalty statements, review reporting details, and keep my account up to date without any hassle.

I especially appreciate the Data Health Check feature. It’s a great way to make sure my catalog is accurate and everything is properly registered. Knowing my data is in good shape gives me real peace of mind that I’m set up to collect what I’ve earned.

Overall, the app feels like it was built with creators in mind. It’s straightforward, practical, and makes staying on top of things so much easier. Highly recommended for anyone in the ASCAP ecosystem!

### ****- "WRITERS & PUBLISHERS"
The app is great but please make it easier to swap between your publishers and writers account without having to log all the way out n back in
