ASDA Scan & Go

The easier way to shop

Published by: Asda Stores

Description

Asda made shopping in-store even easier with Scan & Go, now we’ve brought it straight to your own mobile.

With this app you can do the same as you can with our in-store scanners but straight from your own device. This means you don’t have to sign-in and pick up a scanner at the scanner wall, you can get straight into your shop and continue packing as you go, managing your budget and saving time at the self-checkout.

How does it work:
* Download the Scan & Go app to your device
* Register with your name, email and password…or sign in if you already have an account
* No need to collect a scanner in-store
* Scan items through the app as you put them straight in your trolley
* No need to un-pack and re-pack at the till
* Head to the self-checkouts to pay
Available at all Asda supermarkets and superstores

ASDA Scan & Go Reviews

Not reliable.

Used twice and now camera scanner just stopped working.

Immediately glitchy

iLayls on

And despite logging in to main account cannot access those saved shopping lists. Specific items can’t be saved just generic terms such as ‘tea’. Absolutely dreadful waste of time downloading.

Awful downgrade

Jay63688422 on

New app hardly works, constantly logs out during shopping ‘due to inactivity’ then locks you out, especially annoying when at the tills and the UI is awful with its huge buttons, borders and advertised products everywhere. Old version was better.

Banned permanently

Today I was permanently banned from using the scan and go hand set and app as I had accidentally not scanned 3 items and now I’m banned permanently

Scan as you shop till

Bluey102 on

United Kingdom

I recently had a disgusting experience using this app…..I had done a big shop using the scan as you shop app, went to the till only to be treated with “you have been selected for a check” I waited and waiting for a worked to eventually come over and all my shopping on the app had wiped clear because I was waiting for so long. When the worker asked a colleague I was told that because I used the app there was nothing they could do and walked off. I was left with a trolley full of food which I then had to unpacked and put through a till. What a joke!! Why have the app if the staff are not will to help when there are problems. Asda - sort yourselves out!!

Terrible

Stupid App doesn’t scan the items and then the staff just shrug their shoulders I would recommend Tesco

Changed the app.

Georgia1307 on

Used to love this app, it would have the aisle and stock for items listed. This made life so much easier for me when giving a list to my partner or when not sure about stock. Unfortunately, this feature (without reason or warning) has been removed from all stores near me. Luckily, Tescos still have a great feature for this that works and is much easier to use. I will no longer be using this app or shopping at Asda. If this isn’t a problem for you, that’s brilliant. However, do be aware the app comes with significant bug problems where it regularly crashes and it is much quicker to not use the app.

Needs improvement.

I have tried to do two shops this weekend one was with three items and the other with just one item. The app brought up the QR code for a security check. The store were not able to scan the QR code so had to revert to putting items through the normal checkout. Not a time saver at all. Why can the Scan and Go not combine the Rewards Card like Sainsbury’s SmartShop does with the Nectar card.

Search function gone

Rporteo on

United Kingdom

Used to have a search function in the app that told you what aisle an item was if you couldn’t find it in the shop, it disappeared in an update a while back, really need a bringing back to the app as it was a really good feature

Shockingly bad

Jake b l a on

United Kingdom

Utterly terrible, I am a completely honest person, I would never think to steel a 55p bottle of water and risk getting criminal record but because this app is so awful and unreliable, despite be scanning items turns out a few items didn’t get added, and then when I came to the checkout I was accused of trying to not pay for items. I’ve never experienced such a bad experience, I’ll never be shopping at ASDA again.
