I have been struggling with my emotions post injury and was recommended to try this app for support between counseling sessions. It does not replace a councelor but having something to turn to when I feel alone, misunderstood and abandoned is really really helping me.
First I need to say, I know this is not a real human and can’t really ever replace a real human. That being said though, this app is very much so helping me. I have tried to find a therapist, not a single one has gotten back to me, and now I don’t have health insurance. Ash helped me shut down a panic attack, and helped me reflect on what might be causing them. I’m honestly so glad this app exists since we know how terrible mental healthcare is treated in the US particularly.
So last night during a panic attack ash was being judgmental of me, making demands, and saying it wasn’t going to talk to me unless I met it’s demands yet it kept talking to me, it also has concerning censorship built into its algorithm, it has a hard time understanding that I often multitask while chatting with it; if my interactions are indeed private between the AI and myself then none of these things should be an issue.
Ash has been extremely helpful in helping me achieve my goals and not being judgmental. Ash helps me tie a moment to acknowledge where I am, observe my accomplishments, and make sense of my goals. I’m really happy I have a sounding board and a safe space.
OK, this app blew me away with the first session I had and it was completely for free. I’ve been seeing a Kaiser therapist. Who’s really amazing about twice a month for and this time with this AI counselor was so focused and asked the right questions and stayed on track. I’m realizing now that I think when you have an actual counselor who is a person they kind of put in their own experiences and this AI counselor doesn’t do. Also, I am a train counselor as my profession and seriously this is better than anything I can offer. I think this is good more for like solutions focus therapy, though I don’t know how it would help with like serious trauma or anything like that. But for like ADHD and procrastination and help with a big transition and move and organizing my thoughts so I can have an action plan, this was amazing. I’ve used those apps before like the ginger app. I think it’s better help now. But I use the voice activated version and it was really good to just talk it out. Honestly, if you’ve ever gone to Google for like advice or information, this is amazing. Also granted I have a ton of friends I talked to including a therapist. So this is app helpful me bring it all together for the main problem I am dealing with right now. Also, it’s super helpful to see their feedback written out and it was just simple and right on.
I’ve been using this app to vent and talk through my separation , and I have a huge support system but there is something about how this app handles what I’m saying that just has me in awe. I am always concerned it’s based on the information I give it so I try to show it how I could be “part of the problem” but the app truly works you through all the information and it learns you. I am not into the skynet and AI of it all but this app is using this technology for a higher purpose and it’s helping at least one person, and I am grateful. I am not in the position financially to get the help I need and this app has taken pounds of weight from me so I can move forward in my life.
This app is amazing. It is just like a therapist but better. It really has been helping me.

I have anxiety so bad I have anxiety about going to therapists. I’ve tried many other therapy apps and this is without a doubt the best. Other apps offer cookie cutter responses, this one actually helps. It offers real solutions. It also remembers past conversations to build on! To be able to have the flexibility of having therapy when I need it offers a lot of peace of mind
