## ASIAIR Description
ASIAIR is an intelligent wireless controller that includes the device and app. You can control all ASI USB 3.0 and Mini-series cameras, selected DSLRs/MILCs, and popular equatorial mounts. Also, you can handle more gears, such as EFW and EAF from ZWO. Just connect your phone or pad to ASIAIR WiFi and explore the universe.

ASIAIR has SkyAtlas built-in. It can handle almost all DSO and Planetary imaging tasks. Such as preview, plate solve, auto-focus, polar-align, guiding, plan (multi-target, mosaic), video recording, live stacking, post-stacking, etc. You can even share and chat with global Astro-pals.

### ***** "Easy to use powerful and well supported"
I have been using this app and device for several years, now. I got this soon as version 1.0. came out about 5 years ago. Still works great.  It is far and away the easiest way to take long exposure photos of the night sky, from stars and galaxies to distant nebula with a variety of telescope setups. I used to use a laptop to run the telescope, camera and mount, which required a lot of battery power and software was complex and error prone. With this tiny device which easily runs on a small portable battery all night, is a tiny box that fits on scope and simplifies everything. At first it was a bit limited, but still was fully functional. Only limitation which is also its strength is that is is designed to support users that use zwo brand astronomical cameras and focusers. This means that rather than trying to partially support a wide range of cameras it supports these cameras really well - super easy to use. You can focus, align the mount for polar alignment, switch filters, precisely aims telescope at any of the well known astronomical objects (and you can define your own custom objects)and have it automatically take a series of photos on it all night, including even flipping the mount when it switches from eastern to western hemispheres of the sky, then turning off device and returning scope to home position when it is done. I am particularly impressed with the support provided. They maintain a facebook page and respond to questions or comments very quickly. They also welcome comments for new features or options. Now it features autofocus, a video mode for photos of planets, and continues to perfect guiding, and other features. Highly recommend for people wanting to take night sky photos in a simple straightforward and highly automated way. You no longer have to stay up all night to take great photos of these distant objects.

After the firmware update the app on 2 different platforms (Mac laptop and IPad), if I go to Plan and then click the hamburger icon to go to the plan list, the app crashes on both platforms. Tried this with 2 different ASI2609MC AIR on 2 different scopes with power only on the camera, so not the equipment must be the update as it worked last night (9/10)

### ****- "Great App, sometimes"
This app can make astrophotography a very pleasant experience. I do a Starsense Auto-align, a quick polar align in Asiair, find my target in the app’s planetarium, start guiding, start imaging, and go to sleep. I wake up to my scope in a safe position, with lots of good data, every single time. No expensive equipment rammed into my CGX, no torn or unplugged wires, no incorrect slew positions. Just perfectly clear 300s exposures of whatever I fancy that night. 

I do have some requests though. While you can focus a separate guide scope in the guiding interface, please add a real focus utility for the guide cam. Also, and this one is important, please implement notifications for issues. It’s nuts that there aren’t any, and even though the Asiair is great, it’s almost a reason to go back to Nina. This hasn’t happened, but it would be areal letdown if something does get disconnected, or auto-focus fails, etc., and we don’t even know.

Every app update comes with headaches and precious time wasted!
It’s unbelievable how every new version seems to multiply the number of bugs.
Clear nights are rare, and losing time because your ASIAIR fails is unacceptable.
I don’t know if the lack of competition has created a comfort zone, but it’s time for ZWO to take this seriously.
Many of us have already started looking into other ways to control our gear, and I have no doubt that competitors will soon take advantage of the dissatisfaction to release something better.

### **--- "Terrible Software updates"
It seems every time ZWO provides and update, they introduce new bugs.  What good is the app if you add new bells and whistles, but I can’t polar align or plate solve?  Very disappointing.  And when you submit a ticket on the bug, they want a video of what it is doing.  If many people are on the forums with the same problems, the burden should not be placed on the user to provide a video of the issue.  This should have been beta tested beforehand.  I will be looking for a new way to run my astro rigs.

### ***-- "Fails to properly control the new CAA"
The ASIAIR plus is an excellent astronomy control system, but the newly released CAA camera angle adjuster is NOT properly controlled by the current version of ASIAIR software (version 2.3.2). Instructions under ASIAIR to rotate 30 degrees, for example, sometimes results in the system deciding to rotate the camera 330 degrees in the opposite direction. This causes pier collisions, cable tangles, and has damaged my imaging equipment. The fault is with the current ASIAIR software, and not with the CAA, hence my 3-star review.

### ****- "Apple Watch support"
The limits to specifically ZWO equipment makes sense but also makes running this more expensive. 

I would like it if there was some integration into Apple Watch which would notify of alarms - like lost tracking star or lost communications with the ASI AIR or other types of errors which could cost you a night’s imaging . 
Better than keeping the app running overnight on your phone with the screen on.

New issue in latest version(s). The camera will lose lock and not shoot but it never says that it lost lock on the target. No more ! Warning. Abd it never tries to acquire any star in the field. List many hours on rare clear nights. 
Older version would display a warning in the guide section. Now nothing. 
Auto correct would be better than losing 1.5 hours of data. While a Power Nap is occurring.
