Which is why we developed a whole new class of avalanche safety gear: preventive avalanche safety gear. AspectAvy Features: DYNAMIC SLOPE ANGLE SHADING This feature separates AspectAvy and makes us an avalanche safety tool. Our maps update slope angle shading in real-time based on the conditions you’re experiencing on the mountain. Even in airplane mode, we visualize the risk factor, helping to relieve decision fatigue, and giving you an objective picture of the risk level around your immediate location. LIVE AVALANCHE AND WEATHER FORECASTS We incorporate up-to-the-minute live avalanche and weather forecasts right into the app. The forecasts and maps are stored locally on your phone, meaning you have access to the most recent downladed information. Closing the gap between planning and touring, and ensuring you have the most updated forecast information available. INDUSTRY-LEADING LiDAR MAPPING Our rock-solid, fast-loading LiDAR maps are stored locally on your phone, meaning you’re not straining for a signal when decisions matter most. Accurate to 3-meter resolution, you’ll see the terrain and risk factor around your precise location. Giving you control of the slopes you ski, and putting peace of mind in your pocket. TRAILHEAD AND DROP-IN SAFETY CHECKS Our comprehensive and interactive safety checklists help ensure your preparedness, grounding your group in proper avalanche safety best practices. BUILT-IN SLOPE ANGLE METER Our built-in slope angle meter helps you verify slope angle so you know where to ski based on real-time risk levels. It also calculates the length of avalanche run-out zones, keeping you safe at the top of the slope, and the bottom when you’re traveling through avalanche terrain. ROUTE TRACKING AND SHARING Industry standard GPS route tracking shows exactly where your tour traveled, and makes it easy to share the route with everyone in your group. You can even see when and where you were close to avalanche danger, and where you avoided higher-risk terrain. DATA-DRIVEN SAFETY Our algorithm was built on decades of avalanche safety data. By harnessing this data, AspectAvy provides you with clear and precise route recommendations based on avalanche statistics. We pinpoint low-risk slopes – with risk levels akin to driving a car – empowering you to make informed choices with confidence, ensuring an exciting, yet safe backcountry skiing experience. Easy to use and navigate. Loved it! -- Bestskieronthemtn, 2024-11-15 ### ***** "Top notch app!" Incredibly accurate. Easy to use. Very impressed! -- Chip White, 2024-11-15 ### ***** "Confirming my snowpack assessments" Been loving using this app in conjunction with my initial stability evals, cool to have the confidence with some unbiased confirmation before I skin up. Offline map and route tracking is also great to have once I lose signal. Great work!! -- Funkiepowderjunky, 2024-11-15 ### **--- "Snow shoes yes ski or split board no" This app would prolly be great for people on snow shoes with no avalanche education or knowledge This app seems to have the mission of “ don’t even consider looking at avalanche terrain or your gunna die “ Which is great for those who need that It is obvious this app is heavily influenced by AIARE. Which is NOT the only education provider nor are the the governing body for avalanche education -- Two sticks1, 2024-10-19 ### *---- "Don’t Waste Your Time" Doesn’t actually have much new info and the UI is terrible. OnX and others have more advanced features and mapping. This app just combines danger ratings with slope angle. Don’t buy the hype. -- jackwelder, 2024-09-10 ### ***** "This is the future of avalanche safety!" This is the first tool I’ve come across that is specifically built to tackle the avalanche problem. Mapping apps are a mess with 20 colors telling me what the slope is doing under the snow, this shows what the snow is doing. Love that the risk shading changes depending on snow pack, snow problems, etc. This app is going to change the game! -- Sendy_shred_bot, 2024-04-30 ### ***** "Expertly made, simply used" I’m newly exploring avy education and I like that this app is very visual and simple to use. Excited to explore more! -- NewbieCS, 2024-04-30 ### **--- "Conservative to point of useless" If you are looking for an app to help you avoid avalanche terrain completely, then this is great. I get that in a sketchy pwl Colorado snowpack this is the appropriate mindset. However, for backcountry skiers who enjoy stepping out into steeper terrain occasionally and are dealing with problems that are more localized or aspect/elevation dependent, I find the terrain advice much much too conservative (telling me to stay off N facing terrain when the days problem is wet loose on solar aspects for example). I like the concept, and I get why an extremely conservative approach was taken, but I don’t think this travel advice applies to what the majority of BC skiers want, and there is too much nuance and liability to make an app like this work for those cases without a step change in how these algorithms work -- Avg skier, 2024-03-13 ### ***** "This app is what the backcountry community needs" I’ve been backcountry skiing for 45 years. Accident and fatalities are a common event among experienced and professional backcountry skiers. It’s clear to me the avalanche training and the backcountry community culture has serious shortcomings. Aspect Avy is on the right track to take the guesswork out of winter backcountry travel. Frank Stern, AIARE Level 2, PSIA, professional engineer. -- fsternco, 2024-02-14 ### *---- "Good for decision making, bad for navigating." It has great tools for beginner to make decisions but it lacks basic navigation tools that are essential for planning a tour. You can’t change the map layers, create route/waypoint, or import files. -- BBB6697, 2023-12-05 [View all AspectAvy reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## AspectAvy In-App Purchases | Item | Price | |------|-------| | AspectAvy Annual Pass | $49.99 | ## AspectAvy Discovered Keywords - simple forecast ## Apps Similar to AspectAvy - [Powder Project](https://apptail.io/app/powder-project-Yqg/united-states) - [Avalanche Inclinometer](https://apptail.io/app/avalanche-inclinometer-Olbc/united-states) - [rakkup](https://apptail.io/app/rakkup-Rlbc/united-states) - [Backcountry Ski - Beta App](https://apptail.io/app/backcountry-ski-beta-app-Hvfc/united-states) - [PIEPS](https://apptail.io/app/pieps-KEfc/united-states) - [American Whitewater](https://apptail.io/app/american-whitewater-LEfc/united-states) - [Trail Run Project](https://apptail.io/app/trail-run-project-MEfc/united-states) - [Guide Pace](https://apptail.io/app/guide-pace-NEfc/united-states) - [MDV Academy](https://apptail.io/app/mdv-academy-UEfc/united-states) - [Alpin: Avalanche Inclinometer](https://apptail.io/app/alpin-avalanche-inclinometer-ukae/united-states) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
