## Astea Mobile Description
Astea Mobile works with Alliance and FieldCentrix solutions, replacing paper-intensive, manual field service processes with standardized, automated and streamlined operations. Global mobile workforces are empowered with wireless access to the real-time information they need — when and where they need it — to eliminate inefficiency, enhance customer service and improve service margins and contract profitability. As work orders are scheduled the correct field engineer is notified via his or her wired or wireless device. Service technicians are armed with all the information they need to complete a service or maintenance job. 

Work orders are sent wirelessly from the office and include customer account and job site information, equipment history and contract and warranty data — onsite, at the press of a button. Technicians have the ability to capture and submit service ticket information without the need for paperwork or for re-keying into the back office system. Service technicians can review and accept assigned jobs on their mobile devices as well, increasing productivity and accelerating call response. 

Astea Mobile also allows technicians to manage their own schedules in the field while keeping the home office updated in real time. The solution also supports complete parts management from the field technician’s standpoint. It allows them to post parts used against the work order, request parts if they are not in van stock, track the technician’s van stock, receive inventory and ship parts back to the warehouse or depot for closed loop tracking of RMAs and vendor claims. Astea Mobile also provides optional real-time GPS tracking. When enabled it allows Alliance, FieldCentrix or ServiceVision back office users to view the current technician’s location for the purpose of intelligently scheduling, even while the application is in the background. This flexibility provides the office with a more accurate reflection of schedules, job scope and resources, enabling the operation to reduce the travel time and distance between jobs. 

The technician can perform their job, using their wireless device, even when they are out of communication range the device will perform normally and synchronize when wireless communication is resumed. Astea Mobile also enables the service technician to communicate, via instant messaging, with other engineers, corporate office, warehouse or other predefined contacts as determined by the organization. This makes it easy for the field service engineer to stay connected and make sure that he gets everything he needs to deliver outstanding service.

I’m part of a company of approximately 130 people and weekly we have approximately 20-30 with time entry issues WEEKLY. It’s due largely to 

“Optimistic” errors - if there is a project multiple people are putting time in for - it locks up - only one person can do their time - at a time. This causes for the end user to lose their entry - but it doesn’t have a warning to re-enter time - sometimes the warning takes a minute or two to pop up and will delete 2-3 days worth of time causing you to re enter. 

AM/PM easily overlooked - it’s not intuitive like workday or almost any other system I’ve used is. It sometimes just defaults to the wrong thing and most people don’t catch it till they’re called out by accounting

Just random service orders crashing 

Getting no connection issues despite having a solid internet connection.

I’ve even asked about this program to chat GPT and even that says it’s a widely disliked system. 

If I could give less than one star I would.

Recently they did a software change. It used to utilize facial recognition to open now it logs out after about an hour. It now takes 4 or 5 try’s to open app. I have clear it, swipe off screen. It keeps wanting to have me go to a portal and log in. So I shut it down, clear it and try again. What a joke in today’s tech world. They think someone’s gonna break into my phone and clock me on or off. Please! I beg of you, change  back.

This app literally crashes or gives me problems every time I use it. Not to mention I DO NOT GET PAID IF I CANNOT FILL MY TIME SHEET OUT…… so this interferes with my life obviously and of course it has to be difficult because a 1st grader designed the app. How is it hard to make a good app? Anything beats this.

Loses information, enters random information on its own. Causes you to do the same thing over and over again. I’m experiencing the same issues other reviewers wrote about nearly a decade ago. This company doesn’t care to fix and improve the product. It’s now a running joke in our company, anything that goes wrong with it just shrug and say one star. Its how we make it through the day with this horrible program.

Several seconds after logging in the app beeps loudly and repeatedly. As far as I can tell there is NO option in the app nor in iPhone 13 settings to disable this! It’s super annoying this did not happen when I used my iPhone 6S.
