The digital form of AN has improved much over the years since I first began using it in 2013. I had previously used the paper format. However, for some reason, I now cannot access the digital version, as it keeps asking for a subscription fee, of which I have paid for this year and also a ID number which is for the print version. October 2022. Help! What’s going on?
Good app
Good digital content
Great way to read the magazine
The app works extremely well, especially since the update. Every issue is easily navigable, and having years of back issues instantly available included in the price is terrific.
Better subscribe the magazine
It’s nice having all the astronomy now magazines just there on the iPad or phone but you don’t get the opportunity to do the competitions to with things which would be nice .
The other thing is somewhat a question I have got , when you stop subscribing , do you still access to all the previous issues you would really of got ? Apart from those gripes, I like astronomy now
September 2017 rubbish does not go past page 58
Phoned and spoke to the astronomy now team. Apparently problems with this month. Just like photocopy of magazine. However my download, tried three times. Download archive etc etcetc. Refuses to go past page 58 without crashing. What a waste of money and time and patience. Technical subject, intelligent users. Rubbish product. Why !!
Problems again!
Here we go again. Up till July 2017 it was working fine - good in fact as the magazine worked with a full menu you could select from and read articles. September issue doesn't download properly and is just a huge stream of 132 pages you have to wade through!!! Hopeless. I've just renewed my subscription in June so not happy! Going to ask for a refund if this isn't cleared up quickly!
Where is my online issue? App crap
Second month in a row now where the paper issue is on the shelves two weeks ago and still no online issue available, maddening!
I phoned them up and they state only one person works on this. Won't be renewing my subscription. I will try Sky at Night instead.

Update 24 Aug 17
Once again the app shows new issue but it cannot be viewed.
Amateurs Astronomers? No, just amateurs.
Astronomy now app
Only works one way up on my iPad. Also pages missing in the latest issue (August). Visual layout not as good as original magazine.
Do not update! They keep removing past purchases
Yet again, the app has wiped out all my back issues [3 years worth!], and will not allow me to download them from the server.
This has happened twice before. The first time is excusable because they were learning to use the store, the second was not; the third is downright insulting to the customer base. My previous comments were polite- but I have now lost my rag completely with these guys.
I will be seeking a full refund for all past purchases, as I am entitled to by UK and EU law.
NB: at least they have responded rapidly to my report and state that they are trying to fix the problem (2012-12-30).
Poor as subscribed but no issues show up on my iPhone
Subscribed and bought a few issues but no new issues have shown up since I subscribed in May - will be seeking to cancel - don't touch as a pile of rubbish
