It’ll download it for free, but it’s a subscription based app. It’s NOT FREE AT ALL. Apps that do this are so scummy, just be honest about what your company is asking for. Stop baiting people to generate application downloads.
I’m a nutrition coach who has used Ate for the last 4 years with my clients. I love it for the accountability and for the awareness it brings. The Ate team has always been so responsive to requests or concerns and I highly recommend it as a tool for practitioners!
I tried this app a while ago but didn’t like the on/off path bit and found it triggering. New features in recent years now allow me to completely hide the path from my view. You’ve gained a lifelong customer!!!!
The description leads you to believe that this is a free app with in-app purchases or a subscription option. IT IS NOT. It is subscription-only, with a 7-day free trial. I’m sure the app is fine, but I feel misled and I won’t pay for this.
Simple, easy to add content by just snapping a picture of what you eat. Also love that it calculates your fasting window by default. No need for a separate app to track IF windows.
It seems like they'd like me to sign up with payment info, before clearly showing what the cost of a subscription would be. TOS doesn't show cost (likely varies by region), but I shouldn't have to look this hard for it. So it's a no.
I had no intention of continuing past trial but really like the simplicity of it-it’s quick and easy to record with lots of options to make tracking more complex if you choose. I have a past with disordered eating and my intention is to build awareness around what, when, where, why and how I eat so I can be more mindful, intentional and reflective about the food I eat and this app is great for that. I feel more balanced instead of more restricted which is how most apps and programs make me feel.
Wish it would tell me in the info app stage that this will be a subscription.
While I do like the layout and ease of using this app, when I began paying for a subscription, I thought there would be something more. There’s just not enough added value to justify a paid subscription. It’s just pictures of my meals, notes, but no deeper insights. I would not pay again. I was attempting to do their 7-day free trial to see if it was worth it, but after day two I wasn’t able to actually use the app at all without agreeing to a payment plan. So I did, assuming that as with other apps, I would be able to cancel before the seven days if I didn’t want to be charged. Unfortunately I was charged immediately and not able to cancel my seven day trial.
