…and might rate it a 5 if they fix the bug where the tempo numbers overwrite themselves making them unreadable.
Atomic Metronome is not free (it costs 3.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Not enough reviews to make a reliable assessment. The app needs more user feedback.

Love the pitch change feature so the sound doesn't fatigue your ears
Always looking for an improved metronome and this has some good features. I especially like the ability to customize the click and the sliding tempo adjustment that makes it easy to select a new BPM on the fly. If there was a way to run this in split view on the iPad it would be ideal for me as I'm using it live with a band and have some other apps that I would like to see at the same time. Otherwise thanks for the chance to try it out for free!
Bought this app to program song titles and associated BPM's for each song in a set list for performance. Not a good application for this. After programming a 33 song set list, I found that when selecting a song I had to go to the metronome setting to have the metronome engaged but when going back to the set list it locks up not allowing me to select the next song to continue playing! Being the drummer in the band, I count off each song and need a set list that displays the metronome for each song and immediately allow for advancing to the next song. Unless I misunderstood the app, this is a big fail for me.
Is there not a way for the metronome to keep playing when the app is running in the background or the screen is closed?
Great features for a metronome. Not quite a “drum machine.” Wish it had a few more “percussion sounds and a little more subdivision options. Nice graphic on main page and very quick manual tempo change function.
I have dreamt of a stable, easily navigable, and professionally competent metronome for years. This is it. Aside from the color selection, which I find to be helpful for my eyes in low light studio atmosphere, it’s entirely streamlined without any unnecessary bells and whistles. The menus for selection of time and division, as well as controlling for tone and sustain of sub counts in polyrhythm is thorough. It will be incredibly beneficial for exploring new playing to experiment with these settings when writing. I would love to see this concept expanded into a common DAW compatible plug in. The mobile is everything it needs to be and then some, and this functionality inside Reaper or Pro Tools would be invaluable.
