Works

This was the only app that successfully alerted us to northern light activity on our Nov 2024 trip to Iceland. Every time it sent a notification, we went outside and were able to capture some activity. None of the other apps did. Worth every penny for the subscription!

Not a bad app

I would suggest adding Bz monitor with the solar wind speed and density. Without that crucial information, you are missing out on true forecasting. Negative (southward Bz) is what breaks through the magnetosphere creating auroras in the first place.

Not great

SuzyQ525 on

This app told me there was zero chance of seeing the aurora in my area, but people further south than my location were seeing it. I went outside and was able to see it. The city lights impeded my view some, so the colors weren’t very dark, but I could definitely see it and even got pictures of it. If I had relied on this app I never would have seen it.

Disappointed

J-rod1234567 on

United States

The app said there was 0% probability of seeing the aurora borealis at my location in Iowa on Thursday night. I took this information as true and later learned that the aurora borealis was easily visible in my area and as spectacular as it has ever been in this area. The app failed me.

Why? is it a glitch?

Ok so Ummm… it said there was a 0% chance and my friend saw them that lives on the same road as me. what’s up with that?

Worthless

Carllton on

United States

I can see the aurora outside yet the app says zero chance. Disappointing
