We have created the Authenticateit app to give shoppers a FREE, quick and convenient way to check an item’s authenticity before they proceed with their purchases - and effectively stop the sale of counterfeit products in legitimate retail situations.

Whether you are buying luxury goods, pharmaceuticals, high tech electronics or even groceries, in operation Authenticateit has the potential to offer you peace of mind that the purchases you make in-store or online are genuine. 

As more brands adopt the technology, you will see more Authenticateit unique product identifiers (GS1 Datamatrix code) on products and packaging.

By scanning an item’s GS1 Datamatrix code  with your Authenticateit app, the item’s data (including GPS coordinates of a scanned item) is instantly compared to a central database maintained by participating brands. The information is then passed back through the app for you to validate so you can proceed with the transaction in complete confidence or walk away from potential problematic purchases. As continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life, Authenticateit only activates the use of GPS when products are scanned.

### *---- "Biggest joke of an app ever....."
Tried to register a new watch. Store i purchased from was not listed so i couldnt register it. Hang on, i have a receipt, i have a product but it must not exist at all because the store “doesn’t exist” . Not to mention stupid scrolling that means there is a button across what you need to select, and one selection is unable to be made..... Any business that uses this company/app really needs to have a long hard look at itself.

The app requires you to allow it access to your location if you want to scan barcodes. If I'd known this before I wouldn't have wasted my data by downloading this app. I will be deleting this app from my device.
